Ex-SLFA President Brima Rejects Transition Committee Report
Former Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President, Thomas Daddy Brima, has strongly rejected the newly released Transition Committee report, claiming he was never consulted during the inquiry. Brima described the findings as incomplete and unfair, stressing that any serious review of football governance should have included his input.
The Transition Committee was set up to examine the state of football management following the end of Brima’s term. Its report raised questions on governance and accountability, but Brima’s outright dismissal now casts doubt on its credibility. His stance has sparked heated discussion among fans, clubs, and officials about transparency in the game.
This public rejection has ignited new debate on whether the report can truly serve as a blueprint for reform. Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone Issues Urgent Alert on Counterfeit Diclofenac Tablets

Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone is alerting the public to the presence of counterfeit Diclofenac tablets currently being distributed illegally within the country.

Investigations have confirmed that the counterfeit medication is being illegally imported by Leigh Pharmaceuticals, located at No. 10 Regent Road, Freetown, without the necessary import authorization from the Board. The product falsely mimics the legitimate Paludic Diclofenac tablets, which are duly registered in Sierra Leone under Abanita Pharmaceuticals.

The Pharmacy Board categorically states that it cannot guarantee the safety, efficacy, or quality of this counterfeit medication and strongly urges the public to avoid its use.

“This situation presents a serious threat to public health. We are actively investigating and working with law enforcement agencies to halt the distribution of this dangerous product,” a spokesperson for the Board said.

Healthcare providers, pharmacies, and the general public are advised to exercise extreme caution and report any suspicious pharmaceutical products or vendors to the Pharmacy Board without delay.

This evening at the Southern Arena in Bo Town, a press conference was held ahead of the much-anticipated CAF Confederation Cup clash between Bantal FC of Sierra Leone and Hafia FC from Guinea.

The host team, Bantal FC, expressed confidence in their preparations and readiness to defend home turf in what promises to be a thrilling encounter. Representing the club were the head coach, a senior player, and team officials who assured fans of their determination to secure a positive result.

On the other side, Hafia FC, one of Guinea’s strongest clubs with rich continental experience, also spoke strongly about their ambition to get maximum points away from home. Their coach emphasized discipline, focus, and respect for their hosts, but remained optimistic about their chances.

This ceremony marks the end of the mandate of Justice Ngegba’s Board, which successfully oversaw the running of the 2024/25 league season.

In the same breath, he hands over leadership of Bo Rangers with a solemn grace, surrendering the reins not out of departure but to reaffirm a pledge: that every decision will honor the club’s legacy while boldly safeguarding the interests of players, staff, supporters, and the wider football family, so that Bo Rangers remains a sanctuary of fairness, ambition, and enduring hope.

The official handing-over ceremony is on Sunday the 21st September, 2025, 12:00 PM at the Bo Rangers Clubhouse.

“Mohamed Kallon Secures First Win as Leone Stars Coach with 3-1 Victory Over Guinea-Bissau”

Mohamed Kallon began his tenure as the new head coach of Sierra Leone’s national team with an impressive 3-1 victory over Guinea-Bissau in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Goals from Mustapha Bundu, Musa Noah Kamara (*Tombo*), and Ibrahim Turay (*Computer*) sealed a crucial win for the Leone Stars at home.

Bundu opened the scoring in the 19th minute, giving Sierra Leone an early lead. Kamara doubled the advantage in the 61st minute, but Guinea-Bissau pulled one back through Monteiro in the 68th minute. However, Ibrahim Turay (*Computer*) put the game beyond doubt with a late goal in stoppage time (90+6).

With this result, Sierra Leone moves up to second place in the group with eight points from five matches, trailing only Egypt, who leads with ten points. The victory boosts Leone Stars' hopes of advancing in the qualifiers as they prepare for their next match against Egypt.
