The 16th of February, 2026.

Here's a rare picture of Salva Kiir Mayardit coordinating food & scholarship assistances for the students who had grown up & started mocking him online due to the current South Sudan's crises.

Have you forgotten the toughest liberation he offered to us?

During the movements, Salva Kiir Mayardit sacrificed himself for the sake of us who're marginalized by the Khartoum's government till we achieved our independence on the 9th of July, 2011.

On the issues affecting us in South Sudan such as insecurities, lack of infrastructures, corruption, lack of education & tribalism, it's not his fault alone because we didn't unified ourselves to work as the patriotic citizens.

Concerning about his slowed movements termed as catwalks by his enemies during the 39th African Summit in Addis Ababa, according to his looks, our president isn't normal but his abnormality has been used by many South Sudanese people to defame him.

Never mock your elderly people if you want to age well.
The writer is neither a relative nor an employee to the president but he concerned about paying some respects to the liberators.

Africans should know that a country isn't ruled by good styles of a leader's mobilities but visions define who a leader is.
Additionally, anyone who doesn't respect his/her elderly people is a bad child.
Though Salva Kiir Mayardit is slow in walking, his struggles upon our independence in South Sudan is more enough than others.

The University of Bahr-el Ghazal is no longer an institution for fulfilling the students' rights. May God help us from these bad situations!

‎UNIVERSITY OF BAHR EL GHAZAL IN CRISIS: STUDENTS SUFFER AS BASIC NEEDS COLLAPSE

‎The University of Bahr El Ghazal is facing a severe crisis, with students living in dire conditions.

‎Hostels lack water and electricity, forcing students to rely on a single handpump and take midnight showers. The situation has worsened with university workers on strike, leaving lecture halls, staff offices, and libraries dirty for weeks.

‎This isn't the first time the university has faced turmoil; in May 2025, students protested against a tuition fee hike, leading to the institution's indefinite closure.

‎The university has since announced plans to reopen, but only for first and final-year students, with a requirement to pay at least 50% of the tuition fee.

‎The students later complied with the administration demands paying 50% of the tuition fee where 600,000ssp can be used for University Development Fund but nothing has materialise so far.

‎The administration cites economic pressures and sustainability concerns

S*x And Thoughts Of S*x Accelerate Beard Growth In Men.
The 12th of February, 2026.

S*xual arousal even just in your thoughts can briefly raise testosterone levels & that hormone directly stimulates facial hair growth.

In fact, researchers once observed that faster beard growth is driven purely by anticipation showing that sometimes it's the mind that fuels the stubble.

Can other South Sudanese people learn from Luol Deng's charity?

When Luol Deng stepped up and covered every bill for South Sudan’s basketball dreams, nobody saw what was coming next. We are talking about everything from shiny new gyms to long-haul flights. That is four relentless years building hope and unity brick by brick. No flash. No headlines. Just real hustle and vision on a global stage.

South Sudan’s team is no underdog anymore. With each win and every uproar across the court, you can feel that spark, a nation rising with pride and promise thanks to one man’s unstoppable drive. Deng’s leadership is not just about money. He is rewriting what giving back looks like, pulling a whole country forward.

✅ Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) – Detailed Explanation

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is one of the most fundamental concepts in human physiology and nutrition. It represents the minimum amount of energy your body requires to sustain life at rest. Even when you are not moving, your body continuously uses energy to keep you alive.

🔰 1. What is Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)?
◾ Definition
🔹 BMR is the amount of energy (calories) the body needs to perform vital functions while at complete rest.
🔹 It reflects the minimum energy required to maintain life-sustaining processes.

◾ Energy Consumption at Rest
🔹 Even during sleep or inactivity, the body burns calories.
🔹 This energy supports cellular functions and internal homeostasis.

◾ Measurement Conditions
🔹 Measured under neutral temperature.
🔹 After 12–14 hours of fasting.
🔹 Physical and emotional rest required to ensure accuracy.

🔰 2. Functions Supported by BMR
◾ Breathing (Respiration)
🔹 Movement of air in and out of lungs.
🔹 Gas exchange and oxygen transport.

◾ Blood Circulation
🔹 Pumping of blood by the heart.
🔹 Maintenance of blood pressure and vessel tone.

◾ Cellular Metabolism
🔹 Running biochemical reactions required for survival.
🔹 ATP production and nutrient utilization.

◾ Temperature Regulation
🔹 Maintaining core body temperature.
🔹 Thermogenesis via metabolic activity.

◾ Nervous System Activity
🔹 Transmission of nerve impulses.
🔹 Brain consumes 20% of resting energy.

◾ Organ Function
🔹 Liver detoxification, kidney filtration, hormonal regulation.
🔹 Gut and endocrine system maintenance.

🔰 3. Factors Affecting BMR
◾ Age
🔹 BMR decreases with age due to loss of muscle mass.
🔹 Younger individuals generally have higher BMR.

◾ Gender
🔹 Males typically have higher BMR due to more lean muscle.
🔹 Females often have lower BMR because of higher fat percentage.

◾ Body Composition
🔹 More muscle = higher BMR.
🔹 More fat = lower BMR.

◾ Genetics
🔹 Some people are genetically predisposed to high or low BMR.
🔹 Influences thyroid function and metabolic efficiency.

◾ Hormones
🔹 Thyroxine (thyroid hormone) increases BMR.
🔹 Hypothyroidism decreases BMR significantly.

◾ Body Size
🔹 Larger bodies require more energy to maintain functions.
🔹 Taller/heavier individuals typically have higher BMR.

◾ Climate & Temperature
🔹 Cold environments increase BMR due to heat production.
🔹 Warm climates may slightly reduce metabolic demand.

🔰 4. How BMR is Calculated
◾ Harris-Benedict Equation
🔹 One of the most widely used formulas.
🔹 Estimates BMR based on age, gender, weight, and height.

◾ Mifflin-St Jeor Equation (more accurate)
🔹 Recommended for modern populations.
🔹 Used often in nutrition and fitness planning.

◾ Indirect Calorimetry (Gold Standard)
🔹 Measures oxygen consumption and CO₂ production.
🔹 Provides precise energy expenditure data.

🔰 5. BMR vs. RMR: Key Difference
◾ Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
🔹 Most strict measurement.
🔹 Requires fasting, rest, and controlled environment.

◾ Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
🔹 More flexible and easier to measure.
🔹 Slightly higher than BMR due to less rigid conditions.

🔰 6. Importance of BMR in Daily Life
◾ Weight Management
🔹 Helps determine how many calories you need daily.
🔹 Influences weight loss or gain planning.

◾ Nutritional Planning
🔹 Dieticians use BMR to calculate total calorie needs.
🔹 Ensures balanced energy intake.

◾ Fitness & Exercise Programs
🔹 Tailors workouts based on how many calories you burn at rest.
🔹 Helps avoid under-eating or over-eating.

◾ Health Monitoring
🔹 Changes in BMR may indicate hormone issues, especially thyroid disorders.

🔰 7. How to Increase BMR
◾ Build Muscle Mass
🔹 Muscle burns more calories than fat—even at rest.
🔹 Strength training increases BMR long term.

◾ Stay Physically Active
🔹 Regular exercise elevates metabolic rate.
🔹 HIIT can boost BMR even after the workout.

◾ Eat Adequate Protein
🔹 Protein requires more energy for digestion (thermic effect).
🔹 Supports muscle repair and growth.

◾ Stay Hydrated
🔹 Dehydration slows down metabolism.
🔹 Water plays a key role in chemical processes.

◾ Adequate Sleep
🔹 Poor sleep reduces metabolic efficiency.
🔹 Hormonal imbalance affects BMR.

🔰 8. Energy Distribution of Daily Calorie Expenditure
◾ Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) → 60–75% of daily calories
🔹 Largest portion of energy usage.

◾ Physical Activity → 15–30%
🔹 Depends on lifestyle and exercise.

◾ Thermic Effect of Food (TEF) → 10%
🔹 Calories burned during digestion.

⭐ Summary

BMR is the foundation of human energy expenditure, accounting for most calories burned daily. It is influenced by several internal and external factors and is essential for designing effective nutrition and fitness plans.
