Small information of Dinka Movement from Egypt to current places in South Sudan According to Lewis Anei Maduut Kuendit's Dinka History Book.
We the Dinka and the Current Senegalese lived in current Egypt called Land of Kem/KM before 300 AD. The Arabs from Arabian Peninsula came and fought us and pushed us South wards until we settled at Present Merowe in Sudan North Of Khartoum. They came again in thousands and waged the Syrian wars on us and defeated us, killed thousands of us if not millions and it is at Merowe that we dispersed and separated with Senegalese around 400AD. A group under Wol Ajang left west wards towards Chad thru Mali and Settled as Wolf Tribe at the Atlantic Coast forming what we called today Senegal and Gambia...Mandinka Are under the Wolf and they look like Dinka, wrestle like Dinka and have some similar names such as Malik, Deang, Dieng, Diop and etc.
Another group that became Dinka under Deng Ajang, a brother to Wol Ajang moved South wards and settled in present Khartoum. They lived there many years and Arabs continued to fight them and got moved South Wards again and settled in Jebel Rebek near Kosti. They again got dispersed and continued to move South Wards. Others settled in Renk, Malakal and majority crossed River Sobat and entered Western Ethiopia. They lived many years however they were used to River Nile right away from Egypt to Jebel Rebek so from Western Ethiopia they started moving west wards searching for River Nile to Present Pibor area, Manyabol, Aying and etc. This is the group that is Jieng or Dinka now...this was around 900 AD. They continued to explore West wards and found the River Nile at Current Bor Area( from Chuei Ker to Chuei Thon) which was occupied by Mundari and Bari speakers. They fought them off and occupied this area from Western Ethiopia thru Pibor and Bor Area and lived there until 11th Century.
When you look at some cattle camp and places in Current Bor area( i mean from Chuei Ker to Chuei Thon) they have no Dinka meaning and they sound Bari or Mundari name eg. JUIKI, DORKOLONG, PATUONOI, KOLONG MOREK/ KOLMAREK, PALABAACH,JOLONG , Pariak, Pabiech AND ETC which have direct meaning in Bari Speakers.
We lived as Dinka in this area for long However, a Dinka Age set called Ciec/ Chiech Manyiel was tasked to cross the Nile and explored other Side of the River, they went and settled there and never returned around 12th Century and became the Ciec Manyiel Subsection of Dinka, the rest started crossing bits by bits and became Dinka Aliab, Rek , Agar and Padang in Abyei and Ruweng and the current greater Bor people remained. The group that crossed where not under one name eg Agar, Rek or etc. Few crossed from their sub clans all over sporadically and left the rest of their clan members behind. It is when they crossed there is when they classified and clustered themselves. No Dinka in Current Bahr El Gazal came from Kordufan or direct from the north. They all crossed the Nile from this side of current Bor, Pibor and Western Ethiopia.
When you look at current clans in greater Bor, they have their families across the River in Bahr El Gazal that left them eg. Nyara of Abii and Nyara of Aliab. Pathuyith of Baidit and Thuyith of Agar, Awan of Abii, Awan Maranga of Aboudit and Awan in ciec , Awan of Apak, Awan Parek of Tonj, Awan Mou and Awan chan in Gogrial and others.... Kuach, of Ciec, Kuac of Ajuong in Twic East, Kuach Ayok, Kuac Madut Ring were one Kuach, Adiang of Twic Mayardit and Adiang of Ajuong in Twic East were one Adiang, Payii clan in Tonj, in Aweil, in Awan Chan,in Aguok Kuei and Jangdor/ Payii of Juet clan in Jalle- Bor were one Payii. Lith Akuok in Angakuei of Baidit, Lith Twic east and Apuklith of Gogrial were one Lith and etc....so many Dinka clans in Bahr El Gazal and in Greater Bor, in Padang Dinka have similar clan names across that have not been mentioned here!
