With the wet season lasting longer than normal, make sure you take extra protection in keeping away mosquitoes.
It only takes one bite.....
Have a great weekend.

Mosquitoes are one of the deadliest animals in the world. Their ability to carry and spread disease causes hundreds of thousands of deaths every year. If mosquitoes are around you, there are ways to protect yourself and your family.

I take this moment to applaud each and everyone involved in health service delivery in South Sudan despite the hardships faced. From the Doctors to the Program managers and not to mention the drivers who toil in adverse conditions to get the job done. Well done guys especially the driver below and Anthony Laki thanks for sharing the picture

Congratulations to M&E Officer Anthony Wani Laki, who won IMA's internal photo contest with this entry from South Sudan! During the contest, IMA staff submitted their favorite recent photos from their work around the world, and winners were chosen by staff vote.

Anthony's caption: "The Duk County Health Department is one of the few counties that implements the World Bank Rapid Results Health Project without any other implementing partners. During a joint supervision visit to Poktap on 5/3/2018, the CHD's Toyota hardtop in which the supervision team traveled got stuck in the mud at the eastern bank of Jonglei Canal due to heavy rainfall. Posing in the mud is the driver, who was trying to dig out the vehicle in order to carry on with their journey. This is a typical situation depicting how difficult it is to deliver health care services to the vulnerable population in South Sudan during the rainy season and amidst insecurity challenges."

Congratulations, Anthony! Keep snapping those photos! 📸

Nowadays is a of everyone. Human rights and health are bound together and one supplements the other, affecting all the aspects of an individual’s well-being. The United Nations and various other international organizations have included the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a basic element in their constitution. The World Health Organization is the first organization which has acknowledged the relation of human rights with health, through declarations and agreements. For the pharmaceutical sector, the human rights constitute a useful tool, regarding the patient’s care and a useful guide in ethical discourse. Remedica supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which covers a wide area affecting the population’s health.

Yesterday, we were fortunate to be invited to tour the local health facilities with the new Minister for Health and Environment (JUBEK STATE) HON. DR. JAMES JADA. We spent time at the Buluk Eye Clinic - the only major clinic for the eye surgery in South Sudan as well as Al Sabah Paediatric Hospital, where we donated two Microscopes to their lab department as well as pledged assistance with drug procurement. I am very proud of all the staff, doctors, nurses, cleaners, watchmen/storekeepers, nutrition specialists in both locations who work tirelessly in some of the worst conditions and always lacking the necessary equipment but still keep on doing a great job. Tomorrow we visit Malakia Health Centre followed by Gabat Health Centre.
