3 more New vaccines have been added to the existing South Sudan Routne immunisation of children under 5 years , making them 8 for your child !

2.OPV/IPV
3.DPT ,
4.HepB/Hib .
5 Measle
6..malaria ,
7.. PCV 8 Rota Virus Vaccine
These vaccines protect against serious and potentially deadly diseases and are given in a series of doses according to a recommended schedule, starting in infancy.
Here are some of the recommended vaccines for children:
1.BCG Vaccine:Protects against Tuberculosis.
2.OPV/IPV Vaccine: Protects against Poliomyelitis (polio).
3. DPT Vaccine: Protects against Diphtheria,
Tetanus, and Pertussis (whooping cough).
4.HepB and Hib vaccine :Hepatitis B (HepB) Vaccine: Given to prevent Hepatitis B infection. Hib Vaccine: Protects against Haemophilus influenzae type b, a bacterium that can cause serious infections.
5.Measle Vaccine: Protects against Measles..
6. Rotavirus Vaccine: Protects against rotavirus, a common cause of severe diarrhea in infants. The rotavirus vaccine is a live oral vaccine given to infants to protect against rotavirus infections, a leading cause of severe diarrhea and vomiting in young children. The vaccine works by stimulating the body to produce its own protection (antibodies) against the virus. It is administered as a series of doses in the baby's mouth and significantly reduces the risk of severe diarrhea and related deaths.
7. Pneumococcal (PCV) Vaccine: Protects against pneumococcal infections, which can lead to pneumonia and meningitis.
8. Malaria Vaccines:The first malaria vaccines, RTS,S/AS01 (Mosquirix) and R21/Matrix-M, have been recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for preventing Plasmodium falciparum malaria in children in malaria-endemic areas. These safe and effective vaccines work by targeting malaria parasites before they can infect the liver and cause illness. Widespread use of these vaccines has already resulted in significant reductions in malaria cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in pilot countries.
Important Considerations
Timing is Key: Children receive vaccines in a series of doses at specific ages. Endeavour to have your child Vaccine at the right ages!
