Gov’t to Print More Notes to Solve Shortage of South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) in the Market
The governor of the Central Bank, Dr. Addis Ababa Othow, has revealed a plan by the government to print more SSP to solve shortages in the market.
According to a series of online reports, Othow made the revelation while meeting with the parliamentary committee in charge of Finance.
According to street complaints, it is now difficult for one to withdraw more than 500,000 SSP from one account, a move that has frustrated some members of the public with fat accounts.
Efforts by Aweil News Agency to reach the Ministry of Finance and Planning to confirm the viral statement were not successful.
