Ruesi Dutton Position 3

Helps to relieve neck and shoulder discomfort.

Stand upright and grab your left wrist with your right hand. Both hands are behind your lower back. Take one step backwards with the right leg.
Bend the left knee forward. Inhale deeply while pulling the left hand to the right then hold and count to 3. Exhale slowly and return to the starting position. Alternate to the opposite side. Repeat again 3-5 times.

Benefits
Stretches: Flexor group muscle of hip. Hamstring muscle, Gastrosoleus muscle, Supraspinatus muscle,Trapezius muscle (Superior fiber).
Exercises: Quadriceps femoris muscle,Tibialis anterior muscle,Erector spine muscle.

Ruesi Dutton position 2

Stand upright, interlock your fingers in front of your chest.
Turn your palms outwards and stretch both arms forward. Inhale deeply then slowly exhale and turn both arms to the left. Repeat again to the right side.
Start again with your hands in front of your chest.
Now inhale deeply, turn your palms outwards and stretch both arms up above your head. Slowly exhale and turn your upper body to the left. Repeat the second step to the right.
Turn your palms outwards and stretch both arms above your head. Inhale deeply and bend your upper body backward.
Finally exhale and slowly bend your body forward (try to touch the ground). Repeat this exercise 3-5 times.

This exercise stretches and exercises the muscles of the back and the upper arms. It helps to relieve shoulder stiffness, shoulder pain and numbness in the hands and arms.
It also increases the range of motion by mobilizing the intervertebral joints.

Be extra careful in case you have a herniated disc or any other problems related to the spine.

Ruesi Dutton Position 1

Stand upright, bring your palms together in front of the chest.
Inhale deeply and bend your head forward. Exhale while returning to the starting position. Then bend your head backward.
Then turn the head to the right and left. Inhale deeply, stretch both arms above your head until your arms are close your ear.
Exhale slowly while lowering both hands over your head and return to the starting position.
Inhale deeply while turning your both hand and shoulder to the left.
Alternate the side.

This position relieves headaches and dizziness caused by tense muscles. It strengthens the shoulders and arms, mobilizes inter vertebral joints and stretches various muscles in the neck, back, shoulders and the stomach.

Starting this week we want to present the new Thai-Yoga series
“Ruesi Dutton”
Based on the inscriptions and ascetic statues in the Watpo temple
we developed a unique yoga-like set of stretching techniques.
In ancient times used by hermits to relieve muscle aches after long periods of meditation,
these techniques can help us today to strengthen the body and prevent
tensions and malposition. We will present new techniques regularly, discussing the physical benefits as well as potential risks.

Last weekend 12 couples participated in the Pregnancy Exercise Event at the SC Chetawan Health Center in Kaset-Nawamin Rd.

Traditional Thai treatments and physical exercises can support pregnant women during the 9 months of pregnancy. In the past traditional Thai woman healthcare and midwifery was common knowledge in Thailand. We want to keep this valuable knowledge alive and try to educate mothers and fathers-to-be to use these techniques for their own and the baby's well-being.
Yoga-stretching, gentle Thai massages, herbal compresses and water gymnastics help to stimulate vitality and relax the body at the same time.

A Woman Healthcare Massage course is offered on a weekly basis in Watpo massage school.
