The Department of Highways has confirmed Motorway M82’s readiness for a free public trial run starting October 22 at 4pm. the 10-km route between Bang Khun Thian and Ekachai will open with full safety systems in place.
Piyapong Jiwattanakulpaisarn, director-general of the Department of Highways (DOH), said the agency, in collaboration with the Engineering Institute of Thailand, has completed final inspections of Motorway route M82 between Bang Khun Thian and Ekachai ahead of its public trial opening on October 22.
The 10-kilometre M82 section, connecting the southern Kanchanaphisek Ring Road from Bang Khun Thian interchange to Ekachai, will open from 4pm on October 22, 2025, with no toll collection during the trial period.
Pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, carts and tricycles are strictly prohibited on the motorway.
Motorists are urged to follow safety regulations during the trial period — maximum speed 80 km/h for cars and 65 km/h for trucks and buses.
