I have received so much love and support since announcing my introductory online private classes. I am constantly reminded of how strong my village is and I cannot express enough gratitude to everyone that has reached out 🙏🏼 If you're curious about yoga or if a private session might be of good use to you, here are my recommendations:

-If you are a complete beginner to yoga and have not known where to start, a mini private is perfect for you as your introduction to yoga. We will go over how to understand instructions and the basic standing and seated poses and sequences you might find in most group classes or videos. I teach complete beginners in my Yoga Basics classes and can tell you that beginners come in all forms - beginners to movement altogether, beginners that are flexible but are new to strength, beginners that are strong but new to flexibility, etc. and can tailor sequences that will suit your capabilities for a sustainable practice.

-If you started yoga using YouTube videos during Covid, a mini private is perfect for you as a step to prepare you for longer, physically difficult group classes. You understand and can follow a recorded class but have been missing a key element of growth: feedback. YouTube has been an amazing tool to expose the public to accessible yoga and so many of my students have come from this experience, but working with a teacher who can see you in real time to correct alignment, instruct breath, and shift focus is important to prevent injury and avoid falling stagnant in your practice.

-If you are an intermediate to advanced practitioner and have specific poses/transitions/sequences that you want to achieve but haven't been offered the time or attention in group classes, a mini private is perfect for you to receive that 1-on-1 instruction time. I've definitely experienced those times where I'm in class and the teacher offers a "basic" or "advanced" option, others go into it and I want to try but the class moves on to the next pose before I even start to figure it out. We can set up an entire session that lays out how to prepare your body to safely practice the pose, alignment and elements of the pose, and how to safely recover from the pose.

-If you've taken a break from yoga due to injury or any sort of life getting in the way, a mini private is perfect for you to find comfort on your mat again without the intimidation that group classes can often cause. Yoga is home for many of us, but we are human. Our bodies and minds break down under pressure, we have responsibilities like families and bills that we need to tend to and oftentimes our practice is the first thing to go. We lose strength, flexibility, and focus overtime and we can be scared to take that step to show up again (at least I know I have). Let's get you back into your practice.

Only 5 more days to take advantage of this 50% savings of only $15 for a 30 minute private session. Learn with me in tandem as you deepen your practice and I navigate the online world. Message me to inquire! A full payment of $15 in the next 5 days locks in your savings and class can be held any time in the next 60 days! Want a friend to join? One additional person can join for only $10. Up to 5 sessions per student so that we can break into multiple sessions if we need. See you on the mat 🧘🏼‍♀️

All right friends, family, and students - after a couple years of avoiding the inevitable shift to the virtual world, I've decided to slowly begin offering online yoga classes! For one week only I will be offering 30 minute private Zoom classes for only $15!

Why so cheap? Well, I'm new here. Not to yoga - in 2019 I dove deep into my personal practice, and since 2021 I have been in Thailand under a mentorship of a senior teacher, working alongside her in teacher trainings helping educate aspiring yoga teachers. Two years of daily, hands-on, in-person work with hundreds of students, of all levels and abilities, from dozens of countries. But I've been hesitant when it comes to the online work - equipment, technology, the permanence of the internet, etc. all intimidated me. I've finally decided to learn the ropes, and as my first virtual students, I want to offer an exchange that feels fair to the both of us.

My offerings:
Vinyasa
Yin
Restorative
Yoga Nidra
Pranayama (breath)

Each session will first include a short consultation as to what your needs and goals are through your practice so that our time together will suit your growth the best. The sessions will be held on Zoom for 30 minutes.

My bookings are open immediately, save for a few days next week that I will be traveling and we can hold our session(s) any time in the next 60 days. Please reach out via PM to agree on a time slot that best suits you. A full payment of $15 placed before midnight on July 19th reserves your spot. Limit 5 sessions per student. Meet you on the mat 🙏🏼

Prasarita padottanasana - my favorite standing pose in Ashtanga (for now anyways).

Prasarita: extended
Pada: foot
Utta: intense
Asana: pose

Chakras: muladhara, svadisthana, manipura. Stability, grounding, safety, security.

Bandhas: mula bandha and uddiyana bandha. Energy is motivated upward.

Back in my power vinyasa days, any time this asana was called I would use it only as a prep for Sirsasana because I knew it provided the foundation required for that inversion. When I have a student eager to get upside down for the first time, I often suggest they begin here. When I switched my practice to Ashtanga I was required to spend time present in this asana for the first time - and now I am always bummed when I have to move on 😆 Switching to Ashtanga from Vinyasa for some can feel like a loss of freedom in the practice, however for me this dedication and structure forces presence. When presence is implemented off the mat we open ourselves to the ultimate bliss in living.

Sthira Sukham Asanam – Steady Comfortable Posture.

The goal is not to practice the most advanced asanas at all times, but rather, to find comfort, steadiness & ease in each pose practiced. This stills the fluctuations of the mind and allows the practitioner to find presence in the here and now.
