What do you tell others when they ask you who you are?
You tell them about your name, age, home country, job, hobbies, passions, your religion or beliefs, your friends or family, your past..
Now really ask yourself: What happened if I lost all these things?
Would you still be here? Still alive? Still breathing?
Now I'm asking you again: who are you?
If you lost all of your possessions, all your knowledge, all of your friends, your job and everything that defines who you are, would you still be someone? Would you still be a human being?
So who are you?
Did you find an answer? If yes, start to read the text all over again. If not, congratulations. You didn't find an answer because there is no answer to this question. If you're truly honest to yourself you won't find an answer.
You are. That's it, as simple as that.
You are awareness, you are life.
And by awareness I don't mean your thoughts or your emotions. Because your thoughts are made up of words and your emotions are your body's reaction to these thoughts. No words can ever describe the miracle that is you. And if you stop trying to define yourself, if you stop identifying yourself with form, you will stop limiting yourself to a word. You won't have the desire of labelling yourself and everyone and everything around you.
Then the miracle and the beauty of this life will come back to you.
you will learn to listen to your heart again and understand more than you ever could with only your brain.
It's a twisted reality.
"I found myself“ means you've found an image of yourself that you like and now you want to paint the same picture over and over again.
But when the colours are fading away and there's nothing left but blanc white paper, you start to realise that you are not the painting, you are the white blanc paper and every second you can use another paint brush with different colours to create an image of yourself. But this image will never come even close to what you look like deep inside of you.
"I lost myself" means that you shed another layer of colours that cover up who you truly are underneath. "Losing yourself" by being completely immersed in what you are doing, gives you a glimpse of who you are.
