This will be a little filler for now but suffice to say, I’ve been doing a little filling the past 20 odd years. The 40th birthday came and went a few years back and nothing was ever done about the expanding bodily spread of middle-age. I drank like a fish and because I lived on my own, the quality of food consumed wasn’t exactly wholesome.
About 2 years ago, my kids came to live with me full time. It’s a story which I’ll touch upon in various blog posts over the coming weeks and months but life changed dramatically after that, in many different ways. I’ve reached a crossroads now where I must retract my finger from my arse and do something, anything, about my health, both physically and mentally.
One Fat Irish Dad will be the journal of this perilous adventure. You can expect bad language, a healthy dose of cynicism and with any luck, a positive and uplifting outcome. Then again, it won’t be luck that’ll get me there. It’ll be blood, sweat and a whole load of fu***ng tears.
