🌟 Advancing Comprehensive Health Services in Batugade 🌟

Over two impactful days, the Ordem de Malta Timor-Leste joined the Ministry of Health, PAM Bobonaro, SSM Bobonaro, local and international partners to strengthen access to "Comprehensive Health Services for Pregnant Women" and other essential community health programs in Batugade.

From film screenings and HIV awareness sessions to the “Walk the Talk” march and formal advocacy activities, the event highlighted the collective commitment to improving community health—especially for women and vulnerable groups.

Our clinical team along with local and international partners provided over 100 patient encounters, including:
✔️ General consultations
✔️ 24 Antenatal Care (ANC) consultations
✔️ HIV & TB screening
✔️ Vaccination
✔️ Oral health services
✔️ RHD screening (Maluk Timor)

Special thanks to the Jape Kong Su Foundation for logistical support, and to all partners who helped make this high-impact intervention possible.

Together, we continue to bring essential health services closer to the communities that need them most. ❤️🇹🇱

Providing primary health services to our partner community in Maubara.

🏥 P*S Outreach (Borolete) – 26 November (Wednesday)
Together with the Vera Cruz team, serving communities in Borolete, Dare, Vera Cruz, Dili.

Timor‑Leste is a small, young nation with a rugged geography, dispersed population, and legacy of conflict. About 70% of people live in isolated rural or remote areas, with no transport and roads can be impassable especially during rainy seasons.

Given these constraints, many people face significant delays or simply can’t access needed medical services, especially preventative, maternal, child, and emergency care.

The Medical Clinic in Dili, provides a regular mobile service to 11 remote locations ensuring that the local populations can receive treatment and follow-up care.

The service delivers care, , nutritional screening & support, early detection of risks, which helps reduce maternal, neonatal, and child mortality and morbidity. The team also screen for TB, treat infectious diseases and manage chronic conditions.

Most importantly, in a country where 42% of Timor Leste’s population lives below the national poverty line, this service is provided for free, thanks to the generosity of our donors.
