Multipl miyelom, kemik iliğinde bulunan plazma hücrelerinin anormal şekilde çoğalmasıyla ortaya çıkan bir kan kanseridir.

Multipl miyelom tedavisinde kemoterapi, otolog kök hücre nakli ve bazı durumlarda radyoterapi gibi geleneksel yöntemler kullanılır. Son yıllarda, immünoterapi alanındaki gelişmeler, multipl miyelom tedavisinde umut verici sonuçlar ortaya koymuştur.

İmmünoterapi, vücudun kendi bağışıklık sistemini kullanarak kanser hücreleriyle savaşmayı hedefler. Multipl miyelom için immünoterapi, allojenik kemik iliği nakli sonuçlarına benzer şekilde uzun vadeli kanser remisyonu sağlama potansiyeline sahip, daha az komplikasyon riski olan, umut vadeden yeni bir tedavi seçeneğidir.

Multiple myeloma is a blood cancer that occurs when plasma cells in the bone marrow multiply abnormally.

Conventional methods such as chemotherapy, autologous stem cell transplantation, and in some cases radiotherapy are used in the treatment of multiple myeloma. In recent years, developments in the field of immunotherapy have shown promising results in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Immunotherapy aims to fight cancer cells using the body’s own immune system. Immunotherapy for multiple myeloma is a promising new treatment option that has the potential to provide long-term cancer remission similar to the results of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation, with fewer complications.

Tüberküloz (TB), küresel bir sağlık sorunudur. Bilim insanlarının, sağlık sistemlerinin ve toplumların ortak çabasıyla bu tehdidi geriletmek mümkündür. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü’nün End TB Strategy vizyonu; sıfır TB hastalığı, sıfır TB ölümü ve TB nedeniyle acı çeken hiçbir aile olmaması üzerine kuruludur.

Bu strateji kapsamında dünya genelinde:
🔹 TB vakalarının sayısının %80 azaltılması,
🔹 TB’ye bağlı ölümlerin %90 düşürülmesi,
🔹 TB ile yaşayan ailelerin ekonomik yıkıma uğramasının önlenmesi hedefleniyor.

QuantiFERON testi, tüberküloz (TB) enfeksiyonunun tanısında kullanılan, enfeksiyon sırasında üretimi artan interferon gama düzeyini ölçen bir kan testidir ve TB’nin erken tespitinde önemli bir rol oynar. Latent (gizli) TB enfeksiyonunun saptanmasında kullanılır.

Tüberkülozun önlenebilir ve tedavi edilebilir bir hastalık olduğunu bilmek, her bireyin atabileceği ilk adımdır.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a global health problem. It is possible to reduce this threat through the combined efforts of scientists, health systems, and communities. The World Health Organization's End TB Strategy vision is based on zero TB cases, zero TB deaths, and no families suffering due to TB.

This strategy aims to:

🔹 Reduce TB-related deaths by 90%,
🔹 Prevent economic devastation for families living with TB.

The QuantiFERON test is a blood test used to diagnose tuberculosis (TB) infection, measuring the level of interferon gamma, which increases during infection. It plays a crucial role in the early diagnosis of latent (hidden) TB infection.

Knowing that tuberculosis is a preventable and treatable disease is the first step every individual can take.

On World Tuberculosis Day, March 24th, we support scientific progress, equitable healthcare, and community solidarity against tuberculosis.

ATC Genomics olarak, 5-8 Şubat tarihleri arasında gerçekleşen 2. Uluslararası Kalıtsal Kanserler Kongresi’nde yerimizi aldık.
