WYO-IST was born in Istanbul's biggest yoga studio, where Gabby and Ozgur met for the first time in March 2014, and started a life together.

Gabby's passion for Turkish culture, and her appriciation of genuine handmade crafts and textiles brought the idea of taking a few carpets, scarves and pieces of jewelry back to her home state of Wyoming. By sharing these products, she began introducing a little bit of her Istanbul and Turkish experience with the Wyoming community. Gabby and Ozgur then combined thier mutual love for travel and true artisan work by creating a few small trunk show events in Gabby's home town of Casper Wyoming, and were met by the Casper community with great enthusiasm for these treasures from Turkey. The tremendous support and encouragment recieved from familiy and friends encouraged Gabby and Ozgur to create this portal and share their life, collected products and experiences with the West.

Through Wyo-Ist, we have found great opportunities to support Turkish women, small scaled local manufacturers and salesman while introducing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship with our Wyoming family.

All of our products are handmade in and around Turkey with an emphesis on quality, sustainability and supporting disappearing traditions.
