🫀 Pectus Arcuatum and Cardiac Compression
Our 17-year-old patient had Pectus Arcuatum, a rare deformity where the chest wall compresses the heart.
With the sandwich bar technique and a minimally invasive (closed) surgery, both the chest shape and the pressure on the heart were relieved.
📸 On the X-rays, you can clearly see the difference in the heart shadow before and after surgery.
This transformation is not only aesthetic but also a major gain for heart and lung function.
✅ Pectus arcuatum (carinatum-type chest deformity) is known as the most challenging type of pectus to correct with traditional methods.
Thanks to advanced surgical techniques, it is now possible to achieve scarless, safe, and successful results.
👨⚕️ Every individual’s chest structure is unique. That’s why diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical approach must always be tailored to the patient.
