Ever wanted something or someone so badly… convinced it/he/she will satisfy you, meet all your needs, and make you TRULY happy???? Then it/he/she finally shows up and you’re like “what in the world is this?”

This little guy was clearly hungry, searching for food…so my friend gave him a tuna sandwich - and he looked at it and at her like “huh?”. And he left it right there….

Obviously, a tuna sandwich was not what he wanted or needed. And that “huh” he felt (and we often feel…)was God saying “nah sis/bro...that aint for you.”

So thankful that God sees beyond our short-sighted desires, protecting us from who or what might harm us and preparing us for the great things He has planned for us.

Have you ever felt like God was depriving you of something/someone that you felt you just had to have???

What feels like disappointment is often God’s redirection, reminding us that His plan is always higher than our own.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”. (Proverbs 19:21 )

Came to the beach this morning. Saw these crabs clinging to a beach rock as wave after wave washed over them.

And I thought...

There’s a whole lot of stuff going on in the world that is trying to knock us off our feet. And separate and apart from the world stuff, I am so sure we all have other stuff going on in our lives!!!

But, when you know Jesus, you know you have a ROCK to cling to…. just like these crabs know they have a rock to cling to.

What’s amazing is that even tho the waves keep coming, the crabs just won’t let go.

That’s how we gotta be ….unwavering in our trust - knowing that we can find strength and safety in holding onto Him….the rock that is higher than I.

You got waves washing over you today?

Trust Him, hold on and know - you are not alone.

“Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:1-3
