What is ‘Anugraha’? You may be wondering what ‘Anugraha’ means. This is a Sanskrit word with many meanings but the words which speak to me the most are ‘grace’ and ‘support’. Anugraha is that grace which is achieved through our own experiences; which supports us as we move through our everyday lives. At Anugraha Yoga we create the space for your experiences to happen.

Earth day today 🌎 This year's theme "Our Power, Our Planet" speaks to what we can do as individuals, and as a community, to encourage environmental care and progress.

Small, consistent actions can create significant change. This is true for our health and just as true for the health of our planet.

One action that is part of my daily practice, and has been since I was a pre-teen, is mindful walking. I take time to notice my breath as I move, to notice how my feet land on the earth, to build awareness of the space I am moving through. Sometimes I walk with a mantra, or an affirmation, letting each step remind me of a syllable or a word.

I invite you to join me in this practice on May 2nd - World Labyrinth Day - a day where we walk for peace, taking time to connect with self and nature.

Details of this event can be found at: tinyurl.com/AY-WLD-2026

Come walk with me. Let us focus on inner peace and the peace that we can radiate out into the world with each step.

Happy Earth Day!

Last Tuesday The Quiet Chapter held our twelfth meetup! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who attended, and who supported us ❤️ Thank you to Bocas Lit Fest for collaborating with us as a pre-festival event and for providing reading options at our event ❤️ Thank you to Nalanda at Shadytree Cottage for our small bites, and to Zen's Teas for the chai ❤️ Thanks also to Gareth, for all of our photos - for this particular meetup we chose to take photos to remember and to share ❤️

For the past year we've met to read together, quietly in community, at either The Arts Café or at The Shadytree Cottage. We've read over 75 books - fiction and non-fiction, classic and contemporary and Caribbean literature. We've shared and discussed and found the time to read, for an hour a month, in community.

I look forward to reading with you all! 📖

Our next meetups are scheduled on my website - please feel free to book your spot if you'd like to attend.

April begins and ends with holidays... At least for me as I take the last week off to celebrate my birthday.

There are things happening in the middle though, from classes to events to retreats. Here's your reminder for what's happening in April:

✍🏽 Friday 10th - The Space Between, an online women's creative circle
📚 Tuesday 14th - The Quiet Chapter - 12th meetup of our reading club

And on Sunday 2nd May, a special event in celebration of World Labyrinth Day.

There are times when we find ourselves at the threshold, that liminal space, those in-between moments where things are changing and life feels uncertain.

In those moments (which may last for hours, or days, or months, or years), when we feel the shifting of things, we can ground ourselves in:
🔸 our breath
🔸 the present moment
🔸 our faith
🔸 that which brings us joy
🔸 our community

This Easter weekend marks the 13th year since my mother has passed. On April 3rd she transitioned, on April 6th we held her cremation. Her passing led to many shifts in my own life, much understanding that has come through the years since.

I'm not taking calls or messages this weekend. I will respond to all work-related things on Tuesday.

Blessings of love, faith, hope, and renewal. If you find yourself in a period of transition remember to breathe, and take time to be.

Enjoy this mini recap of our yoga and photography retreat: 'Perspective: a way of seeing'!

💕 Thank you to our participants for sharing this afternoon with us. We are both so pleased at how open everyone was to our theme, and that you enjoyed the process of exploration and experimentation with what was shared.
We hope that our retreat offered a shift in how you see yourself, how you move through the world, and the photos you can take of these experiences.

🌺 It is always a joy for us to return to Ajoupa Gardens () as it offers so many possibilities for photography, space for inner reflection and connection, and such creative energy that we can all tap in to.

🫖 Thank you to Zen's Teas () for sharing your delicious Masala Chai with our group!

We look forward to future workshops, retreats, and collaborations 💫

To those who are writing exams - breathe... and good luck!

This time of year I am invited into schools in my area, both primary and secondary, to share practices that students can use to manage themselves during exam time.

I wish that yoga could become a part of their curriculum - a consistent part of their school days - as I know the benefits that I have received over the years of my practice through primary, secondary, and tertiary education.

I know of some (principals, teachers, and guidance counsellors) who actively try to share with their charges, or to bring in someone (like myself) to work with them.

There are parents who see the value of their children doing yoga, and it is good to see them making space and encouraging their children to practice.

If you have a young person writing exams soon, take time with them. Exams are stressful, both for the children and the parents. Listen to how they are feeling, breathe, and unwind together.

My thanks to the principal and guidance counsellor of Monkey Town Government Primary for inviting me into the space and allowing the sharing of these photos!

"I missed our Yoga for Women's Health class today", is what someone shared with me last Thursday.

This class offers space for us to notice the shifts that are present as we age, to build awareness of how the body changes and how it affects us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Together we breathe, we move, and we rest.

Here in my early 40s I am finding myself fascinated, sometimes grumpy, sometimes sad, and sometimes deeply confused, by all the changes that are occurring in my body.

Perhaps you are also going through this? Perhaps this is a space and a journey we can travel together, as a community. Sharing guidance and support, wisdom from generations past, science and present day findings.

🧘🏾‍♀️ Mondays 6:15 - 7:15 pmtt Retrench, San Fernando

Looking forward to our upcoming retreat, 'Perspective: a way of seeing'!

Together we will explore how our way of seeing can shift depending on our breath, our movement, our presence. We will observe how the angles we choose can change the stories we tell in our photos, our experiences, and our lives.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down, shift your perspective, and see what emerges.

Registration has been extended to Sunday 22nd due to the observance of Eid. Limited spots remain.

A few scholarship spots are available at a reduced cost. Please message me directly if you'd like to access them.

🔸 Sunday 29th March | 2:00 - 6:00 pm
🔸 Ajoupa Gardens
🔸 $600 per person | $1100 a pair

For further information please send a WhatsApp message to Renee Arundhati at 744-8161

We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
