Last night a Caribbean Airlines flight from POS to Ft Lauderdale was diverted to Nassau because of bad weather. The FLL flight to POS was therefore delayed by 3 hours. But guys, the Captain was too funny. He and the crew really made up for the delay. It was the first time in all my travels that a captain came and shook everyone’s hand to apologize for the delay. He was warm and hilarious. When we landed he said….. “we reach” and everyone burst into laughter……Real Trini. What could have been stressful turned out to be comfortable and relaxing.

Faith can move mountains….
There was a great storm on the seas causing the boat to be swamped by waves.
The disciples panicked and feared for their lives while Jesus slept through the chaos.
They eventually went to Jesus and begged for him to save them.
‘Save us, Lord; we are perishing. And he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, O ye, of little faith?’ Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.” In life we will face many storms. There will be times where you’re stressed with work, you may be overwhelmed with financial burdens, have strife with loved ones or carry a heavy heart for those close to you who are ailing.
We must remember that faith and prayer can move mountains and break any chain that will try to burden our beings.
There is power in the name of God in whatever form that Divine presence is in your life, that light resides within you.
Often times doubt acts like a light switch and it causes our minds to go dark when it is flicked off. We must remember to keep it on with love, faith and trust.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed: I will strengthen you, I will help you.” the book of Isaiah reminds us.

Really sad to hear of Aunty Anna’s passing. She has been more than a mother to thousands of us girls. She really shattered glass ceilings for women. She was an exemplar.
Reflecting on her life and contributions, she was an amazing human and I feel privileged to have been a part of her legacy. She believed in the power of education influencing the transformation of lives and she deeply supported her daughters of SAGHS.
Anywhere I met her, she would proudly introduce me to everyone as her daughter. On a Sunday, at Curepe Presbyterian Church, she had a special spot. I would sit next to her and she would lovingly take over my son, Vinash as if he was her own. He loved the attention!
I had the honour of meeting with her a few months ago with some of my SAGHS friends at a reunion. She was extremely happy to see us and we were able to let her know how much of an inspiration and how appreciated she was. She proudly shared the article below published in the Sunshine Newspaper in 2022.
It is my hope that our country can carry forward her vision and continue to strive for excellence.
To her family, I extend my heartfelt condolences.
Rest in peace, Aunty Anna. You will be remembered with great respect and love. Your legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of all those you inspired.
