Today, we talk about the power of love.
Every embrace should be free, and every act of love should not be defined by fear.
For too long, misunderstandings about AIDS have built an invisible wall between those living with HIV and those without. However, many individuals throughout history have used their actions to increase public understanding of AIDS and bring transparency to its stigma.
Freddie Mercury 🎤
He went public with his illness before his death, using the last of his life's strength to shock the world into confronting the AIDS crisis and prevention.
Magic Johnson 🏀
He disclosed his status at the peak of his sports career, breaking the early stigma that equated AIDS with death, and proving hope and possibility through his survival.
Jonathan Van Ness ✨
He shares openly with his cheerful, confident persona, actively advocating for the U=U knowledge and demonstrating that people living with HIV can have vibrant, self-accepting lives.
