Ashtma attack⛑️

IF THE PERSON IS CONSCIOUS

• Help them sit up: Have the person sit in a comfortable, upright position.
• Stay calm: Reassure the person and stay with them.

Use the reliever inhaler •

° Shake the inhaler and use a spacer if available.

°Give one puff every 30 to 60 seconds. For children, administer four puffs each time.

° Wait four minutes before giving another dose. If symptoms haven't improved, give four more puffs.

°If the person is conscious and their main problem seems to be breathing, use the reliever medicine as needed, but do not give extra doses after they are breathing normally again.

° Call for emergency help: Call for emergency medical assistance if symptoms worsen or if the person doesn't have an inhaler.

IF THE PERSON IS UNCONSCIUOS

Call for emergency help immediately.

If there is a pulse and breathing, administer the inhaler as you would for a conscious person.

Start CPR if the person is not breathing, have a qualified person trained in CPR give the person CPR and administer the inhaler as described above.

Continue to provide first aid until medical help arrives.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONs

• Seek medical advice: Even if the symptoms improve, the person should see a doctor as soon as possible.

• Check the condition: The person should not be left alone until emergency help arrives.

• Administering medication: Use the person's own inhaler if possible.

• Do not give medication: Do not give any other medications or treatments during an asthma attack unless advised by a medical professional.

To provide first aid for a fracture, call emergency services, then control any bleeding by applying pressure with a sterile bandage or clean cloth to the wound, immobilize the injured area to prevent movement, and apply a cold pack wrapped in cloth to the injury to reduce swelling and pain.
Monitor for signs of shock and treat if necessary by having the person lie down with their legs slightly elevated, and keep the person warm.

IMMEDIATE STEPS

• Call for emergency help: Dial your local emergency number immediately, especially if the injury is severe, there is heavy bleeding, or you suspect a neck or back injury.

• Stop bleeding: If there is an open wound, apply gentle pressure with a sterile bandage or clean cloth to control the bleeding. Do not push on a protruding bone.

IMMOBILIZE THE AREA

• Do not try to realign a bone or push a protruding bone back in.

• Keep the injured part as still as possible. Use a splint if trained to do so, ensuring it extends beyond the joint above and below the injury.

• Padding the splint can increase comfort.

• Apply a cold pack: Wrap ice or a cold pack in a cloth or towel and apply it to the injured area to reduce swelling and pain. Do not place ice directly on the skin.

• Treat for shock: If the person feels faint or has rapid, shallow breathing, lay them down with their head slightly lower than their body. If possible, elevate their legs.

• Keep the person comfortable: Cover them with a blanket to keep them warm and reassure them. Do not let them eat or drink anything in case they need surgery.

SEIZURE ⛑️

What to do during a seizure

• Stay calm: Stay with the person and time the seizure, noting when it starts and ends.
•Ensure safety: Move any hard or dangerous objects away from the person.
• Protect their head: Place something soft, like a jacket or pillow, under their head.
•Loosen clothing: Loosen any tight clothing around their neck to help them breathe.
• Do not restrain: Never try to hold the person down or stop their movements.
• Do not put anything in their mouth: Do not insert your fingers or any objects, as this can cause injury.

WHEN TO CALL EMERGENCY SERVICES

• The seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes.

• It is the person's first seizure.

• The person is injured.

• The person has difficulty breathing after the seizure.

• Another seizure starts before the person has recovered from the first one.

"First aid classes — learning to protect, react, and save.⛑️
The primary survey is a quick, systematic assessment in first aid to find and treat life-threatening conditions using the DRABC mnemonic:
Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, and Circulation.

This skill ensures safety for yourself and the casualty, assesses the casualty's condition by checking for responsiveness, ensures the airway is clear, checks for normal breathing, and addresses severe bleeding.
This step-by-step process prioritizes immediate life threats, and if the casualty is not breathing normally, it leads to calling for emergency help and starting CPR.
