EXERCISES TO BALANCE THE SACRAL CHAKRA 🌞
Many practices can help open and balance the sacral chakra. Restore balance today by doing exercises to heal the second chakra:
Meditation: Meditating on the water element can be very healing and therapeutic, bringing the body into emotional balance. Here are two chakra meditation techniques that are effective in activating the sacral chakra:
Visualisation meditation: Start by sitting comfortably and slow your breathing. Focus on your breathing until you find a steady rhythm. Once you have established this rhythm, shift your attention to visualising the colour orange. You can focus the colour in the sacral chakra area. As an alternative visualisation, you can imagine a calm body of water, such as an ocean or lake, and a clear open sky. Continue the practice for a few minutes.
Meditation with chanting: Sit comfortably in a reclined position and close your eyes. Visualise a flat, white moon coming from your knees and extending to your navel. Repeat the mantra 'vvam'. You can continue this meditation for 1-20 minutes.
Essential oils: Some essential oils can help heal the imbalance of the sacral chakra. Methods of application include applying directly to the skin or diluting and adding to the bath. Here are some of the main essential oils that are effective in opening up the sacral chakra:
Sandalwood
Jasmine
Clary sage
Pink pepper seed
Affirmations: Practice affirmations by writing them down, saying them out loud or a combination of both. Here are some of the affirmations that will heal negative programming and help open up the sacral chakra:
"I deserve to have fun in my life."
"I absorb information from my feelings."
"I accept and celebrate my sexuality."
"My sexuality is sacred."
"I move with ease and ease."
"Life is pleasurable."
Yoga asanas: Several asanas help open the Swadhisthana chakra. Here are three effective yoga postures that will allow the life force energy to flow freely through the second chakra:
Goddess Pose (Utkata Konasana): Start standing with your legs spread wide apart in an unfolded position. Bend your knees and try to align your hips so that they are parallel to the ground. Make sure your knees are bent over your feet and your shoulders are above your hips. Lengthen your back and bring your palms together in front of your heart. Hold this pose for a few breaths.
Bent Angle Pose (Supta Baddha Konasana): Lie down on the yoga mat, bend your knees and bring the soles of your feet together, allowing your knees to sink to the floor. Place your palms on your stomach and feel it expand as you breathe in and out. Allow your body to sink deeper and deeper into the ground with each inhale. Show some creative energy and confidence, and carry this feeling of openness and joy through the day.
If none of the above methods appeal to you, there are other ways to balance the sacral chakra. These include using crystals, exercising, or incorporating orange hues into your daily life. Since the sacral chakra is associated with the water element, taking a warm bath, swimming or being near water is also helpful. Certain foods can balance the sacral chakra. These include foods rich in healthy fats such as fish, nuts and seeds as well as orange coloured foods.
Healing your second chakra will improve your physical and emotional well-being, but this will not happen overnight. For best results, practise these exercises regularly.
