Dogs noses are wet to help absorb scent chemicals

This amazing dog fact might answer a long-standing question that dog owners have. Why are dogs noses wet? Vetstreet says that the answer is that dog’s noses are wet to help them absorb scent chemicals! Their nose secretes a special mucus that helps to absorb these chemicals, and then they lick their noses to sample them, helping them understand what the smell is.

Wangcai, 3 m/o male German-shepherd X brought in earlier today. ‘Wangcai’ a chinese word meaning “Bringing wealth to the family”

He has not been eating for 2 days, vomiting, lethargic, dehydrated and with diarrhea.
No history of vaccination and deworming.

On clinical examination, Wangcai was dehydrated, with a swollen prescapular lymph nodes, fever (39.3 C), and pale mucous membranes.
A f***l sample was examined using f***l flotation method and found f***l eggs and proglottids (segments) of a tape worm 🐛 (Dypylidium caninum). ‘See Pictures below’
A rapid Parvovirus snap test was used to confirm the presence of Parvovirus. (Snap test showing double lines for a positive sample.)
Canine Parvovirus is a deadly viral infection that affects young dogs. It is often times preventable by vaccination.

Wangcai has been admitted and put on supportive treatment.
