In 1995 psychologist and science journalist Daniel Goleman launched an internationally best selling book titled 'Emotional Intelligence'
EI is defined as the sentimental capacity of the mind, or the ability to identify, assess, and control emotions.
Emotional Intelligence has five aspects;
1) knowing your emotions
2) managing your emotions
3) recognising emotions in others
4) managing relations with others
5) motivating ourselves to achieve our goals.
All of them are important for we need to manage our emotions.

They attribute this to limited mental health facilities in the country and a shortage of healthcare providers. CGTN's Hillary Ayesiga caught up with a survivor who is now an activist against depression.
