“Why does my baby still seem hungry or fussy after breastfeeding?” 🤱🏾

It can feel confusing… and a little discouraging.

Breastfeeding isn’t always straightforward,
But it’s also not something you have to figure out alone.

Let’s help you understand what your baby is really saying

Hi Dr. Doreen!

Happy New Year! I'm doing well. Apologies I haven't been as responsive.
It's been quite busy. Baby is doing really well. 4 months now, almost 5.

Thanks for the support you've given us new mums. It's been really helpful to have
that forum. I especially valued being able to hear the experience of other
mothers. That was very helpful as we'd often be going through similar things.

I also valued the information you shared with us. However, I'll admit I didn't
always get the chance to go through it in detail or to contribute much
as it was a really busy time navigating motherhood for the first time.

Thanks again for everything!

Wake a sleeping baby to feed?”

Yes 🤱🏾

Especially in the early days.
Tiny babies still need help keeping up with feeds.

As they grow, they’ll take the lead.

Good Friday ✝️💚🧡

Love that gives.
Love that shows up.
Love that sacrifices.

Mothers understand this kind of love deeply 🤱🏾

Today, we honour both the meaning of the day, and the women living it out daily.

Breastfeeding is beautiful.
And… it can be exhausting 🤱🏾💚🧡

Two things can be true at the same time.

Yes, breastmilk supports your baby’s growth, immunity, and development.
And yes, it asks a lot from you, physically, emotionally, mentally.

Late nights. Frequent feeds. Little sleep.

It comes at a cost. A worthwhile one, but a cost nonetheless.

That’s why support is not optional.
Mothers need rest.
They need nourishment.
They need help.

Because when a mother is supported,
She can keep showing up, for her baby and for herself 💚🧡

Is it okay to combine breastfeeding with formula feeding? 🤱🏾💚🧡

Every feeding journey looks different.
Sometimes supplementation is needed, and that’s okay.

But it’s important to understand:
• Why supplementation is happening
• How it may affect milk supply
• How to protect breastfeeding while doing it

The goal is to support both mother and baby in the best way possible.

With the right guidance, you can make informed choices without losing confidence in your breastfeeding journey.

How long should a breastfeeding session last? 🤱🏾💚🧡

Short answer:
It’s a team effort, between you and your baby.

There’s no fixed timer.
No “10 minutes each side” rule.

Breastfeeding is not a stopwatch situation.
It’s a relationship.

Let baby lead, and get support if something feels off.

“My baby wants to feed all the time… is that okay?” 😅🤱🏾💚🧡
Short answer: yes, often, it is.

Babies feed frequently because:
• Their stomachs are small
• Breastmilk digests quickly
• They’re growing (a lot!)
• They’re building your milk supply

Sometimes it’s hunger.
Sometimes it’s comfort.
Sometimes it’s both.

Frequent feeding is not your baby being “too much.”
It’s your baby doing exactly what babies do.

That said, if it feels overwhelming, painful, or confusing…
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

We’re here to help you understand what’s normal, and what needs support 🤱🏾💚🧡

The question carries a lot of fear.

“Is my milk enough?”

In most cases, yes.
Your body is designed to meet your baby’s needs.

But sometimes challenges happen:
Poor latch
Infrequent feeding
Medical conditions
Lack of support

Breastfeeding is natural… but it is also learned, supported, and guided.
If you’re worried about your milk supply, don’t guess, let’s assess.

After a month of discipline, devotion, and (for some) breastfeeding
through fasting, today we celebrate.

Eat well. Rest small. Be cared for too.
