We carry so much, and yet we remain unshaken.
This week may end, but our resilience, our advocacy, and our love for each other continue every day.

Across Uganda, 🇺🇬 trans and gender-diverse persons continue to face daily violations of their fundamental human rights ,from denial of healthcare and justice, to violence and social exclusion.

Through the RISE project, PRISM Uganda convened this validation meeting as part of our contribution to the upcoming UPR shadow report ,amplifying voices too often silenced.
This gathering was not just about research, but truth-telling ,about reclaiming our stories, shaping evidence, and demanding accountability. Every frame in this video reflects a shared commitment ,to visibility, dignity, and the human rights of trans people in Uganda.

UNFILTERED FACTS 📢
Across Uganda, many transgender 🏳️‍⚧️ and gender non-conforming individuals continue to face rejection, eviction, and violence simply for being who they are.
From family rejection, loss of employment, community discrimination, to political scapegoating trans people are being pushed out of their homes and left with nowhere safe to go.

Homelessness for trans people is not just about lacking a roof it’s about losing safety, dignity, and access to healthcare, education, and emotional stability. Many are forced into unsafe environments, exploitation, or harmful coping mechanisms just to survive.

At we believe no one deserves to be unsafe for being themselves.
Our Trans Shelter Program provides a safe and affirming space for transgender and non-gender conforming persons facing homelessness, especially during heightened times of political tension and violence.
