Our Mobile Farm School team conducting a community review meeting in Ndagwe Sub county,Lwengo District where we apparently operate this youth economic empowerment program that is tailored to equip formal school dropouts with modern farming skills.

In the meeting,we review the progress of the project, interventions, achievements and challenges so for realised. We get solutions to the emerging challenges as we guard the achievements realised.

Among the achievements include, but not limited to organizing an annual agricultural conference, establishment of breeding centers and nursery beds, among others.

Trainees, while listing challenges, they noted that tye inadequate rainfall has seed them fail to gain fairly from the high quality seedlings that we gave them at the start of the season.

This has been solved with supporting them with livestock projects like poultry, piggery and goat rearing.

We are thankful to our partners,Kindernothilfe E.V.Kindernothilfe E.V. for generously supporting us since 1998

Our mobile farm school trainees were inspired, motivated and given technical knowledge on modern farming during an agricultural annual conference held at Mariaflo hotel.

One of the facilitators was Hossam
Ssebanja from National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO)

Held every year, the agriculture conference is meant to expose ongoing trainees to ex farm school trainees who have made fortunes from the modern farming skills they were equipped with.

This year,we could not have all the 100 trainees because of COVID-19. We only had 16 trainees. The latter are expected to share experience with the rest of the trainees.

The Mobile Farm School Project is one of our youth empowerment programs. It focuses on youths who dropped out formal schools over vulnerability.

Last week,we handed over the grandmothers and Orphans & Vulnerable Children Project to local leaders of Kabira Sub county after empowering the former through a number of interventions that make them resilient.

They have dislodged grief due to a series of bereavement counseling sessions and registered improved livelihood through a number of interventions.

Among these were income generating projects like piggery breeding centers, tents and chairs for hire. We believe these projects will help them get income to take care of their orphaned grandchildren and basic needs.

Their grandchildren have been equipped with sustainable vocational skills on top giving them school fees support and scholastic materials.

We thank our partners, Lewis foundation for generously supporting us for now fifteen years.
