Uganda is today joining the rest of the world to mark .

- 60% of cancer patients in Uganda seek treatment when the cancer is in its advanced stages hence minimal survival chances.

- Uganda has one of the highest incidences of infection-related cancers in Africa.

- Currently, a "cancer bill" is before Uganda's Parliament and aims at providing a functional national cancer control program.

Bipolar disorder, also known as bipolar affective disorder or manic depression, is a mental disorder characterised by periods of elevated mood and periods of depression.
The elevated mood is also known as mania, or hypomania. During mania, an individual feels or acts abnormally happy, irritable and sometimes energetic. They often make poorly thought out decissions with little regard to the consequences. There is usually reduced need to sleep.
During depression, there may be crying, poor eye contact with others and a negative out look on life.
The cause is not clearly known but both genetic and environmental factors play a role. Environmental factors include long term stress and history of childhood abuse.
It's advisable to see a doctor incase of any of above symptoms.
