The purpose of this session is to help them identify a problem before rushing into launching a business.

What an inspiring day at the National Agritourism Symposium hosted by Gudie Leisure Farm!
Speakers broke it down: agritourism isn't just big farms; Begin with small but organised and innovative steps. Let’s collaborate with neighbors ("expert at one, they at another, and we all sell together!"), package the full experience (visuals, meals, souvenirs, entertainment), go digital (especially Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube), keep it clean & welcoming, and educate tourists on community impact.

The National Agritourism Symposium is coming up on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Gudie Leisure Farm in Najjera 2 - Below Esella Country Hotel.

Hosted by Gudie Leisure Farm and supported by MTWA, MAAIF, UTB, and ATA Uganda, this high-level forum will explore how agritourism can drive investment, boost rural incomes, showcase innovations, and align with national goals like the Ten-Fold Growth Strategy (targeting $20B from agro-industry & $50B from tourism).

Congratulations to the 120 young ladies from Serere, Kumi, Pallisa, and Bukedea districts on graduating from the Sustainable Inclusive Youth Employment Pathways (SIYEP) program at Gudie Leisure Farm! They are set to train 100 youths in the White Meat Value Chain.

Dr. Patricia Ojangole, our Guest of Honour, urged them to lead with vision while receiving startup capital for their innovative ventures.

Our trainees in Aquaculture and Condiments industries, they explored NAFRI in Jinja and Masese Landing site, along with our Green Campus in Kikyusa, Luweero. The Condiments group learned about growing medicinal plants, while the Aquaculture trainees discovered various fish species and fishing methods. These visits have truly opened their minds to opportunities that can enrich their lives and benefit their communities.
