Remember when you were told that the Democrat Party was "for the little people, for the working folks of the USA ? "

Robert F. Kennedy (on Tucker Carlson) now says NO to that...and elaborates that “There’s been an inversion now where the Republican Party has become the party of the common man, of working people, of the middle class..."

Telemedicine has taken healthcare by storm.

The Doctors at ABILENE FAMILY FOOT CENTER are now offering Telephone Office Visits to their existing patients.

This virtual exam room option provides a new way for patients and their Doctor to interact outside of the office, creating a more convenient way to see individuals who may struggle to make it to the office.

The U.S. Government (CMS) has recently cleared the way for most of the major insurance payers to cover telemedicine, including Medicare and VA.

Telemedicine Visits are not for everyone, but in the practice of Podiatry, telephone visits are most useful for:
1. Patients who need a visit to determine if medication refills are appropriate.

2. Patients who just need to ask questions or seek advice regarding a foot or ankle related problem.

3. Patients who have developed a new problem, and can take digital photos with their cell phone or digital camera. These digital photos can be e-mailed to our office and reviewed by one of the Doctors, who can then review the photo, discuss the problem with the patient on the telephone, review their chart, medications, and allergies, and then make recommendations, and/or prescribe necessary medications.

At the present time, only established patients qualify for Telemedicine Visits.

If you are an established patient of Abilene Family Foot Center, and would like to seek a Telemedicine visit with one of our Doctors (Dr. Albritton or Dr. Bogoian), please call 325-695-8990, and ask to speak to Dawn, who has been expertly trained to determine if you may qualify for a Telemedicine Visit.

In the meantime, please follow all of President Trump's guidelines for avoiding the COVID-19 virus, and Stay Healthy !

November is NATIONAL DIABETES MONTH.

There are Two Major Foot Problems found in persons with diabetes : Neuropathy and Poor Circulation

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (a.k.a. nerve pain, nerve disease, nerve deterioration) in the feet

When talking about Neuropathy in the feet, there are 2 overlapping forms:

Painful Neuropathy, and Painless Neuropathy

Painful Neuropathy usually manifests with:
• Burning, stinging, or tingling sensations in the feet (especially if worse in the evenings or during night-time hours).
• Sharp, lightening-like pains in the feet that often feel like electric shocks or knife-like pain (especially if they occur suddenly without warning).

Fortunately, we have several different non-narcotic medications that can significantly help control the painful symptoms and improve the quality of life for these diabetic patients.

But next is Painless Neuropathy, which is much more ominous.

Painless Neuropathy results in loss of sensation in the feet resulting from damage to the nerves which carry pain sensations from the foot to the brain.

Diabetic patients with this condition may be unable to sense any discomfort, even from a pebble in the shoe, or in more serious cases, from a tack or nail completely embedded in the sole of the foot.

This inability to feel abnormal pressures or pain in the foot can easily result in repeated minor injuries and skin damage, diabetic foot ulcers, and eventual infections in the skin and underlying tissues. In some cases, this may lead to gangrene.

Damaged nerves can actually keep you from knowing or feeling the exact position of your foot without looking at it, which often leads to tripping, falling, and foot and ankle sprains.

November is NATIONAL DIABETES MONTH.

During the month of November, an effort is made to increase awareness about proper diabetes control and treatment.

Foot problems are a leading cause of hospitalization for the 16+ million persons in the United States who have diabetes.

Common diabetic foot problems include diabetic foot ulcers (or other slow-healing sores on the feet or lower legs), infection, or gangrene that may lead, in severe cases, to amputation of a toe, foot, or leg.

As Podiatric Surgeons, Doctors Albritton and Bogoian at Abilene Family Foot Center are trained and experienced in recognizing early on that many diabetic foot problems are preventable with the proper education and daily inspection of your own feet.

These doctors are dedicated to treating these diabetic foot problems with innovative techniques, precisely to help prevent amputation of a toe, foot, or leg.

Next month, we will talk about how early detection can minimize diabetic foot problems. Please stay tuned.

The illegal immigrant caravan has now swelled to 7,000 to 9,000 people.
The Mexican government failed to stop these people. Instead of arresting these illegal aliens, the Mexican police is now giving them a security es**rt. When the media's cameras are out, the illegal migrants stand side-by-side, ten people across. Their ranks now stretch for two miles down the road.
When the media turns the cameras off, they hop in busses and pickup trucks to make up as much ground as possible.
It is a race against the clock. They know they need to reach the border before Trump mobilizes the military. Organizers are hoping to grow the caravan to tens of thousands of people over the next couple of days, and more migrants are leaving Central American countries to try to join up with them.
President Trump is doing everything everything in his power to stop the caravan, even mobilizing the Army and Marines to close the border. I hope he CLOSES THE BORDER !!!
The caravan is marching forwards and is FUNDED BY democrat BIG DONERS.
This is an invasion of our Souther Border.
The pressure has never been this great.
Every American citizen needs to VOTE in this election.
The Invasion of America must be stopped. Your vote in the election will help empower President Trump to do what is necessary to stop this invasion.
PLEASE VOTE
