Me: hey hubby do you wanna go for a ride?
Him: ( he be so bored) ok! ( quickly walking towards the door)
As soon as I get on my customers street, he says “ oh you’re work with —- (my oldest client they’ve been my faithful customer for 18 years)
Then he says… are you going away with them?
Me: no - I can’t leave you for that long.
Him: I’m good, go!
Me: that’s sweet, but I’m good being with you.
Him: stop doing that!
Me: doing what.
Him: enjoying yourself! I’m fine.

I’m sharing this moment because as a caregiver sometimes we stop living and enjoying life because it doesn’t feel fair to be happy or even smile when the ones we love are going through so much.
My husbands so sternly reminded me to stay in touch with the things that I enjoy as well.
God promises to bring beauty in our ashes, so don’t be afraid to feel happiness! God is still working and your loved one wouldn’t want you to withhold your enjoyment.

I can’t sleep! Too excited about NAN Resource Center government contracts meeting!

We got pop up events scheduled for all over the city. (MontCo we got room for y’all too) Featuring conflict resolution events, art therapy, clay therapy, music therapy, college prep, financial literacy and so much more! But I am more excited about is our solution for this opioid and gun violence problem we see playing out in these street!

God gave me a gift… no matter what happening in my life I’m gonna always operate with purpose 💪🏾

Good morning beloveds. I forgot to share my focus words for this year with you.
1. Receive 2. Perspicacious (insight or understanding) 3. Magnanimous ( generous or forgiving)

Sometimes we are so busy giving of ourselves that we fail to allow ourselves to partake of the generosity of others including God’s grace and His forgiveness. I plan to learn how to receive.

Perspicacious- I plan to take time this year to seek understanding and insight of my surroundings and dealing with all things. Not jump to conclusions but understand the importance and purpose of things.

Magnanimous- most of my life, it was normal for me to cancel folks once they’ve did me wrong or I realized they weren’t trustworthy. Sometimes without speaking a word to them again! Although I have cut ties, the feeling of
Unforgiveness would creep up. I’ll never let them back into my circle but I don’t want to hold them in my heart. So I’m adding on purpose forgiveness, grace and gratitude towards those folks. Simply because it GOOD FOR MY SOUL.

Hey business buddies ( long story w/ a question at the end)
It seems like all of the Gov’t and Certifications portals are asking for updates today. (I was literally updating portals profiles all day🤦🏾‍♀️) I’ve been awaiting for approval for PA dept of transportation site since 2022 ( this certifications would open opportunities with all transportation, air and ports in Pa ). Today they finally sent an emailed requesting additional personal information and assigned me a new DBE program specialist. (My 4th specialist)

Since the information she requested for was about me and not my business, I decided to call with questions. She apologized for the delay with my application and explained some of the system changes. So I asked if this line of questioning had anything to do with that fearless fund lawsuit or some of the lawmakers attempts at canceling  DEI initiatives? Her reply didn’t seem all that convincing. She went on to say however, a number of the diversity and inclusion programs ( like the SBA) have stopped taking new applications but for now this agency is still processing applications and since my application was started in 2022, I shouldn’t have any issues. ( again not too convincing)

I said all of that to asked the question— if lawmakers are successful at canceling programs designed to provide opportunities for minority —
1. how would your business model change?
2. Would your child choice of college change?
3. Do you think you’ll break any glass ceiling or barriers in your career?
