Even something as small as a soda tab can make a BIG difference✨ Our CHAMPS seniors group collected 9 pounds of pull tabs and donated them to the Akron Ronald McDonald House!

The money from these recycled pull tabs supports the Ronald McDonald Family Fund, helping bring moments of joy to families through things like birthday gifts, salon visits and anniversary dinners. ❤️♻️ We’re so proud of the impact the members of CHAMPS are making!

Last month, Bravo participants hosted their annual “Souper Bowl” fundraiser! Together, they chose to raise money for the Peter Maurin Center, a volunteer‑run nonprofit supporting Akron’s unsheltered community. They also collected personal hygiene donations and proudly delivered the items and a check for $1,113 to the Peter Maurin Center. We love seeing their generosity and teamwork make a difference in our community!

P.S. Congrats to our very own Kay Shellenberger and Greg Curtin for winning the Taster's Choice Award and Judges' Choice Award with their fabulous soup entries!

Low vision awareness matters 💙

More than 7 million people in the U.S. live with low vision and the number is expected to double by 2050. Yet millions never get the support they need often due to a lack of awareness, high costs or limited access to assistive tools.

At UDS Low Vision Services, we connect people with personalized solutions that help them with activities of daily life. Most of our aids even come with a free trial period so individuals can find what works best for them.

How can you help:
👉 Know someone living with low vision? Refer them to UDS Low Vision Services.
👉 Want to help others access life-changing support? Insurance often does not cover the cost of assistive devices, making them out of reach for many. Won’t you consider helping someone living with low vision maintain their quality of life by donating today?

Your support brings independence within reach to those living with low vision. Thank you for being part of Low Vision Awareness Month! 💚
