At Spark, we want to provide the best care possible for women who are pregnant, postpartum, or dealing with pelvic floor issues.

And to do that well… it can’t be one-size-fits-all. Every patient is different. Their goals are different. Their lives are different. They deserve care that actually reflects that. That’s why we’re looking to bring on a pelvic floor physical therapist.

Mid season shoulder pain?

This athlete is dealing with that right now. Baseball athlete, a lot of throwing, shoulder gets irritated. Not a big injury (we caught it early, thankfully), just enough to mess with performance and hang around.

He’s already doing rehab with his team, which is good. But he wants it to calm down faster so he can keep playing at a high level.

That’s where we’re helping him out with StemWave. Working on reducing irritation and getting the shoulder to settle down mid-season.

So the same pain shows up, the same limitations stick around, and the results don’t really move. It’s not a motivation or effort issue, it’s usually the plan. Alysse brings a strong background in both outpatient and inpatient rehab, with a passion for helping people get back to doing what they love. After tearing her ACL in high school, she experienced firsthand how powerful physical therapy can be, which is why she leads with empathy, encouragement, and individualized care.

She loves working with active adults, athletes, and post-op patients — helping them recover, rebuild, and return to peak performance 💪

We’re so excited to have her stepping into a new role as our StemWave specialist, helping patients accelerate healing and get even better results ⚡️

Shoulder pain rehab can feel overwhelming.

Scroll online for five minutes and you’ll see dozens of “best shoulder exercises” for rotator cuff pain, impingement, frozen shoulder, labral issues, and more. Band exercises. Mobility drills. Stability work. Strength progressions. Overhead retraining. The list never ends.

The truth is, there are many exercises that can help. But the real question is: which one is right for you, and when?

Rehab is not just about picking a good exercise. It is about understanding the phase you are in.

Early phase often focuses on calming irritation, restoring range of motion, and improving basic shoulder blade control. Middle phase builds strength in the rotator cuff, lower trap, serratus anterior, and surrounding musculature. Later phase progresses into dynamic stability, overhead strength, sport-specific loading, and higher performance demands.

If you skip phases, progress too fast, or focus on the wrong area, shoulder pain tends to linger or keep coming back. That is why so many active adults feel stuck or confused during rehab.

Why Your Pain Keeps Coming Back

(And why rest, ice, and random stretches aren’t fixing it.)

Pain doesn’t always start as a big problem. It might start small. A tweak. A flare up. A little tightness after workouts. And most people ignore it.

Then the body adapts. You move differently. You avoid certain lifts. Other muscles start compensating. Now it’s not just irritation. It’s a movement problem.

So what do most people do? Rest. Stretch. Ice. Google exercises. Foam roll. It feels better temporarily, then it comes back…because symptoms are not the root cause.
