My favorite slang of 2025? “D1 crash out.”
It’s dramatic, sure — but it’s also kind of brilliant. 💥

When a kid says “D1 crash out,” they’re naming something: a huge emotion that doesn’t quite fit the moment. 🎢

It’s an easy, relatable way to say, “maybe that was too much” — without shame.

Because when we can name it, we can regulate it.

"You can’t co-regulate if you’re dysregulated. When your heart rate spikes, your patience dips, or you feel personally triggered by your child’s emotions, it’s okay to pause. Step away for a few deep breaths, splash water on your face, or remind yourself: this is not an emergency.

When you regulate yourself first, you’re modeling emotional control and giving your child something steady to anchor to. You don’t have to be perfectly calm—just grounded enough to offer calm."

Perfectionism is sneaky.

At first, it pushes you to do well. But then it quietly moves the goalpost—suddenly what was “good enough” yesterday isn’t anymore. Before long, you’re chasing impossible standards and running on empty.

Perfectionism doesn’t protect you from failure but it does prevent you from feeling good about the small steps that will lead you to the goal.
