Brittney leads our recurring lactation support group here at the Bloom Birth Office.

This is wonderful space for:
• Pregnant women preparing to
breastfeed
• New mothers in the early weeks postpartum
• Mothers navigating challenges (latch issues, low supply, oversupply, pain, pumping, combo feeding)
• Those exclusively pumping or using a mix of feeding methods
• Moms feeding multiples
• Moms continuing to nurse beyond infancy
• Anyone seeking reassurance & guidance through their feeding journey

As my photo clearly proves… I do not belong in a child’s car seat. But kids do — and when they’re in one, how they’re buckled matters more than we sometimes realize.

Quick reminder for parents and caregivers: puffy winter coats and car seats do NOT mix.

Here’s why:
• Puffy coats create hidden slack in the harness.
• In a crash, that padding compresses instantly.
• What felt “tight enough” can suddenly become way too loose.
• That can allow a child to slip out of the straps or be thrown forward, risking serious injury.

👉 Safer move:
Buckle your child in without the bulky coat, tighten the harness properly, then lay the coat or a blanket over the straps to keep them warm.

Cold kids are uncomfortable.
Loose harnesses are dangerous.
