Many things worth doing feel hard at first, especially during a season as tender and transformative as postpartum.
Hard doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re human and worthy of support.
Alongside in-person care, I also host a virtual Facebook community called Breastfeeding Mamas of Northeast Ohio for connection, encouragement, and grounded education between feeds.
You don’t have to muscle your way through this season.

Healing isn't linear.
Postpartum recovery is no different.
It doesn’t follow a calendar.
There is no universal timeline for healing, feeding confidence, or finding your footing as a mother.
Some seasons take longer because they ask more of us.
Some of us have different entries into this season that shape who we are and how we mother.
But every single one of us is on our own timeline for healing.
If you’re a Northeast Ohio mama craving community without comparison, my in-person support groups meet the first Monday and second Thursday of each month.
You don’t need to be “over it” to be welcome.
We want you to come just as you are and find your village.

Breastfeeding is often described as “free,” but many mothers feel the cost in other ways.
Time. Energy. Learning curves. Sleep. Emotional labor.
Support and education aren’t indulgences.
They’re part of caring for mothers well.
This is why I hold space for Northeast Ohio families both in person and online. Mothers deserve to be supported because breastfeeding matters, not only when it becomes overwhelming.
You are allowed to value what you give.
Join us at the next group to find your village of mamas who truly GET what you're giving your baby- March 2nd and March 12th in Canton

When feeding doesn’t go smoothly, it’s easy to assume baby is choosing one thing over another.
In reality, babies respond to flow, positioning, and timing.
Bottle challenges often point to small adjustments, not preference or rejection.
Bottle usage, when combo feeding is needed (hint it isn't always) and how to back and forth between bottle and breast with the least resistance when a mama heads back to work.
All things we talk through in depth during my breastfeeding basics class, in home consults and in support groups.
Feeding struggles are information, not a reflection of your worth as a parent.
If feeding feels confusing or emotionally heavy, you’re not alone.

One of the most common worries in the early weeks is whether frequent feeding means something is wrong.
For most newborns, eating often is completely normal. Breastmilk digests quickly, their stomachs are small, and feeding helps them feel safe and regulated in a brand new world.
Cluster feeding isn’t a sign you’re failing. It’s your baby communicating.
If you’re heading into the first weeks postpartum and want to feel more confident about what’s normal, my Breastfeeding Basics class focuses on navigating those early six weeks without constant second guessing.
So you can walk into that new baby/postpartum season with confidence.
In Person Classes are offered the third Tuesday of the month- Join us Feb 17th for the next one!

Postpartum rest is often talked about as if it’s a simple checklist item.
In reality, sleep can feel fragmented, unpredictable, and emotionally loaded.
You’re healing from birth.
You’re feeding a newborn.
Your body is wired to listen for every sound.
That’s not a failure of planning or mindset.
Instead of pressure to “sleep better,” many mothers need support, nourishment, and reassurance that this season is hard because it matters.
You can help the fourth trimester feel more restful by having warming meals prepped during pregnancy or delivered via a meal train, having a clear plan for what needs done for the day to day of your household to keep running while you prioritize rest and getting to know your baby and recharging yourself with other women who truly understand the season you're in.

If you’re local to Akron or Northeast Ohio, our in-person support groups are a place to exhale and feel less alone in it. Our groups meet at 6pm in Canton the first Monday and Second Tuesday of each month, the next groups are Feb 17th and March 2nd.

Breastfeeding is often described as something that should just “click.”
And when it doesn’t, many mothers quietly wonder what’s wrong with them.
The truth is that breastfeeding is biological, but it’s also a skill. It’s something mothers and babies learn together, usually with support, reassurance, and time.
Needing help doesn’t mean your body failed. It means you’re doing something important in a culture that stopped teaching this well.
For families here in Northeast Ohio, this is why I offer in-person support groups and education. Learning together changes the experience entirely.
Was this something you were told?

This is one of those pieces of advice many mothers hear early on, often said with good intentions.
Breastfeeding does ask a lot of your body, especially in the beginning. Increased sensitivity can happen as your body adjusts. Ongoing pain, cracking, or damage is your body asking for support, not something you’re meant to power through.
So many mothers assume discomfort is just the price of feeding their baby. Most of us were never shown what normal can actually look like with the right support.
If you’re pregnant or newly postpartum in Akron or Northeast Ohio and want calm, practical support, this is exactly the kind of thing we talk through together.
Save this for later or share it with someone preparing for postpartum.
