Day 9 – Motif Sober Living
Chosen by Attorney Kelley O’Neill-Boswell to receive a $1,000 donation during the Watson Spence 12 Days of Giving.

Motif Sober Living is a faith-based residential home that provides women in recovery with a safe, structured, and supportive environment as they transition out of treatment and back into everyday life.

Motif focuses on complete healing—physical, emotional, and spiritual—teaching accountability, personal responsibility, and strength through community. Women at Motif work toward independence through employment, recovery programs, and personal growth, empowered to rebuild their lives with purpose.

A huge thank you to Mission Change for your incredibly generous donation to Motif! We are so grateful for the people God continues to send—each one helping us move one step closer to opening our doors.

Quick update: We’ve received quotes for the fire alarm and sprinkler system, and the total cost to install and open is $60,000+. We are believing, trusting, and standing firm that God is already making a way and providing every dollar needed.

What a blessing it was for Motif to bring Christmas to the girls at Harvest House of Hope in Bainbridge. We are grateful for every moment spent with them, and we give a special thanks to Candis for giving of her time and talent to help bless the girls with haircuts.

We love being able to give back what was once poured into us. We pray the Lord’s protection, healing, and strength over each girl, declaring that “whom the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36). May God continue the good work He has started in their lives and carry it to completion (Philippians 1:6).

We speak hope, restoration, and lasting sobriety over their futures. May they know how deeply they are loved, seen, and chosen by God.

✨UPDATE✨

We’ve been busy behind the scenes meeting with multiple businesses and gathering quotes for our sprinkler system and fire alarm installation. Our most recent estimate came in at $70,000, the final major step needed before we can open our doors for the girls.

We are expecting one more quote this week and are praying it will come in lower. No matter what, we’re moving forward in faith and trusting the Lord to provide through generous hearts.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”-Philippians 4:19

This past year has felt like a constant “hurry up and wait” as we work to prepare this house. Even so, God continues to remind us that His timing is perfect.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” -Isaiah 40:31

We have been blessed with an incredible home, and we know God saw this need long before we did. He has been faithful every step of the way, and we wait expectantly for all that He will provide.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” -Deuteronomy 31:8

So on this Giving Tuesday, if you feel led to give in any amount, we would be deeply grateful. Your generosity brings us one step closer to opening our doors and welcoming the girls into a safe, hope-filled environment.

COMMUNITY NEED:

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” — Romans 12:13

As the temperatures begin to drop tomorrow, our hearts are drawn to those who have no warm place to rest. The Deuteronomy Project is in urgent need of blankets to share with our homeless brothers and sisters.

If you have any extra blankets around your home, new or gently used, they would be so grateful for your help. Every blanket represents comfort, dignity, and the love of Christ in a very real and tangible way.

She officially became a CARES Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist and passed her test today! 🙌

Mo has worked so hard over the past month to achieve this milestone and is now an official Certified Peer Specialist – Addictive Disease (CPS-AD).

We’re so proud of her dedication, growth, and heart for helping others on their recovery journeys. 💙

✨ Update on Motif✨

As many of you know, we recently asked for prayer over our very first inspection. Unfortunately, we did not pass. Due to new codes, we are now required to install a full indoor sprinkler system, an unexpected cost of nearly $50,000, along with other updates that must be completed before we can officially open our doors.

While this news was disappointing, we are not discouraged. We believe with all our hearts that God knew this need long before we did and that He already has a plan. He makes a way when there seems to be no way, and we are choosing to walk forward in faith.

We are shifting our prayers and asking for your help:
🙏 Please pray for provision and favor as we navigate this process.

This home will bring hope, healing, and new beginnings to women in recovery and we believe God will see it through. 💜

🙏✨ Please join us in prayer today as we go through our very first fire inspection between 10-12. We are believing to pass on the first round!

Once this step is complete, we’ll be able to move forward with securing our business license, the final piece before opening. After that, we’ll host a Serve Day at the end of the month to bring in furniture and prepare the space for the big opening of Motif!

We’re almost there… one step closer every day! 💫
