Must have post workout selfie 🤪

It's been way too long since my last workout.

I was seriously THAT depressed over my cat being sick and dying!? Yep. He was my world. His snuggles helped me through a divorce, dealing with sick kids, and everything else life through at me.

I stopped eating good.
I stopped drinking enough water.
I stopped exercising.
I stopped working toward my goals.

I lost me.

Today I woke up and decided to climb back out of my shell and get on with it. NO ONE can work toward my goals for me. I need to put in the work.

Did I gain weight? Pfft. Don't care. The only number I worry about is living a LOOOOONG life. I have enough 💩 going on in my life. I don't need to be worrying about how much I weigh and neither do you!

The program I'm doing I would NEVER have pressed play on it on my own. My coach said "I believe in you. Just modify it." DUH! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Brain fart moment.

How it started -> How it's going

Leg day. My arch nemesis. I broke down right after the second video was taken. Quad stretches are HARD with a bad back. BUT I havent given up on myself in 4 yrs. 4 yrs ago my quad stretches consisted of putting my leg up on the couch. (Damn, I wish I could find that video!) I couldnt even reach my ankle. My range of motion was SHOT! My back was riddled with stenosis, DDD & herniations. Having flares all the time. "Dont tickle mommy, I'll be down for weeks" to people sneaking up on me poking my sides and I jump with ZERO repercussion.

Determination
Consistency
Resilience

Start fighting for yourself. YOU WILL WIN!

We have to stop looking at exercise as a way to lose weight. Start looking at it to be able to live to see 103!

Suppose to be 18 & LIIFT4 shoulders, but not lifting just yet. Ive got a ton of inflammation I'm trying to get rid of from doing too much work on friday. Yep, I gained 8 LBS since Friday! I know it's NOT fat, just inflammation and it'll all be gone tomorrow 🤩 the scale is a tool!

Who the hell invented burpees anyway???

Start slow and graduate to the correct form. Your muscles and joints are not ready to be jumping all around. As this move gets easier, squat lower then put your arms out in front of you then raise your arms as you move your foot straight behind you. Dont kick the dog 🤦🏻‍♀️

YOU DON'T NEED TO KEEP UP WITH THE CREW! Read that again! Go at your own pace or risk an injury. We don't want that!

Grab a mirror or record yourself doing this move. It's so important to keep your belly button drawn to your spine, tailbone tucked under and moving your feet straight back-not out to the side. You'll be surprised what you think you are doing and what you are actually doing.

I didnt mention in the video that you also need to push your knees outward. We have a tendency to let them fall together. Another reason I have knocked knees 🙈

MY 7 TIPS...

1. Track your food!
2. Get any movement in!
3. Surround yourself with amazing friends!
4. Supplement where you lack!
5. Track your food! (Worth repeating)
6. HIRE & LISTEN to your coach!

-60 lbs said goodbye to pain meds and hospital visits for my back. Ive gained 12% muscle in ONE year! Honestly, can not WAIT for my next MRI to see if my discs gained any hydration and healed, but Im not willing to hurt myself to get one approved by insurance 😉

7. THINK POSITIVE- start everyday saying something nice to yourself in the mirror. It works!

There's no need to Jump! Jumping Jacks are designed to raise your heart rate, not strengthen your muscles. For this reason you can modify them to your ability to raise your heart rate and get the blood movin!

If this example raises your heart rate too high, put your hands on your hips and just move your feet. Still too high? Try keeping your feet still, shoulder width apart, and just move your arms ❤ This move can also be done seated

I LOVE when I get one on one time with my girl. She's growing up so fast. She'll be off to college soon (ok, not SOON, SOON, but soon lol) so I've been soaking up all sorts of Kenz time lately. She's even started working out with me ❤

I just hope one day she will look back and remember all of our great times together and not remember how sick I was.

Once I got my health on track it had a domino effect on my kids. They're happier! They're healthier! They're not watching me lay on the couch in pain all day long anymore. I might not be able to go kayaking just yet, but we get out of the house more, I'm on my feet, and I am actually cooking dinner everyday! That's huge! We relied on cereal and nuggets for a long time.
