Auriel Lowe was in her apartment with her boyfriend, Christopher Whitley. After an argument, Whitley assaulted and strangled her to death.

Whitley was arrested and is currently being charged with murder. Auriel's parents had never met Whitley because they had just met on an online dating app.

When you meet someone online, remember: they are a stranger. You can never truly know their intentions. Trust your gut. Keep your head on a swivel. Your safety matters.

The new map, which can be found on top of Instagram’s message inbox, allows users to share their live location while they are using the app.
