Mednet celebrates 33 years in business.

Mednet was started in founder Scott Wood’s home 33 years ago. Scott had been working with a Medicare contractor for over 10 years and was laid off, along with 59 other employees. At that point, his experience in managing claims processing was vast. He knew the “in’s and out’s” of insurance company policies and procedures, and the sudden lay off awakened his inner entrepreneur. “I envisioned a company that would employ the best practices in my industry to improve a doctor’s cash flow,” he said, “so I decided to start my own.”

In today’s marketplace many medical providers are frustrated by reduced reimbursements and the increased cost of doing business. They are looking for business solutions that address these concerns. Through education, technology, trained staff, data review and attention to detail, Mednet reduces insurance denials and ensures that client billing is processed correctly, quickly, and effectively. The end result is faster payment and increased revenue.

“Our clients typically see an increase in revenue of 20 percent within the first three months of working with us,” Scott says. Mednet’s services allow each practice to focus on its core business while his team manages the responsibilities and challenges associated with billing and collection. “It is a pleasure to see the positive reaction to increased deposits,” Scott adds. “Our clients are happy to see us when it’s time to review their numbers.”

In addition, Mednet helps its clients avoid getting tangled in red tape. Government mandates in medical billing mean many changes are on the horizon. The firm follows government regulations and takes action as necessary to protect client interests and ensure continued payments.
