Diabetes and foot health: 5 daily habits that protect your steps 🦶👟

Living with diabetes can affect circulation and sensation in your feet, which raises the risk of wounds, infections, and ulcers. The good news: consistent, simple foot care can dramatically lower that risk.

Contact your provider or foot specialist if you notice numbness, burning, color changes, or a cut or blister that is not improving within a few days. Early help can prevent infections and keep you active.

As a physical therapy clinic, we help people with diabetes stay strong, mobile, and safe on their feet. If you have diabetes and aren’t sure how your feet are doing, schedule a visit so we can screen your balance, circulation, and footwear and build a plan that keeps you moving confidently.

 Morgan, one of our PTs, spent the morning talking with students in anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine classes at Volcano Vista High School about the many roles of physical therapists across different settings. They discussed the importance of a strong foundation in anatomy and how PTs use it every day to help patients move and feel their best!

🎓 Continuing Education at Langford 🎓

A few weeks ago, our clinic hosted a Kinesio Taping course offered by , and our very own Ryan participated! 💪

He learned a variety of new taping techniques to help support muscles, reduce pain, and enhance movement — all tools that will benefit our patients even more in the clinic. 🏃‍♀️✨

We’re always proud to keep learning and growing so we can provide the best possible care for our community! 💙

🎓 Our current DPT student from UNM, Tristen, led last week’s in-service at our North Valley clinic on Overcoming Isometrics — exploring how this powerful training method can help our patients build strength, improve neuromuscular control, and safely return to activity. 💪

In-services like this are a required part of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and give students the opportunity to grow as clinicians while sharing evidence-based practices with our team. 👏
