In cultures throughout history, humans have burned aromatic herbs for medicine and ceremony. Not only can we use smoke to cleanse a space of negativity and create sacred space, but the aromatic compounds released through smoke are anti-microbial and can kill bacteria, fungus and other pathogens. These beauties can be used during ceremony, for meditation, to create sacred space, after sickness or death and when moving into or out of a new space.

I make these magical herb bundles with ethically wildcrafted and guerrilla urban harvested plant friends. My process is always an adventure, where I explore some beautiful wild place for the base, spend time with the land and ethically wildcraft a small amount of plant matter. Then I go on a wild ride to find other plant beauties to adorn them. These ones are super special because a few of them contain lilac which only blooms for a few weeks a year!

No bundle is alike, but they are all made with a base of the incredible Artemisia ludoviciana, or estafiate. A sweet smelling, wild and local Artemisia (some folks call it a sage, though it's not botanically correct). Then according to my heart's desires, I add other seasonal plants such a rose, lilac, rosemary, piñon, yarrow and lemon balm!

I will have them available starting on May 4th at the Downtown Growers Market for Feral Lore Perfumes 2024 opening day!

Great News! Feral Lore Perfumes has been approved for another year at Albuquerque's Downtown Growers Market!

I am so excited to bring all the old favorites and new blends to you all at this fantastic local market. I've missed it this winter.

I thought I'd share this beautiful picture by my friend because it shows our little Burque in the background and I do love my home. ❤️

Downtown Growers Market runs April - October at Robinson Park in Albuquerque. I will be there alternating Saturdays. See you all soon!!!

Hello!!! A long overdue update, but also not really. I flow with my own time, though I have missed this side of the world. It seems appropriate that the last post I made was right before Mars went retrograde and I'm back right as Mars begins moving again. I guess I flow with cosmic timing.

I've been in hibernation, in slow intentional and beautiful movement, internal, The Hermit vibes.

Feral Lore took a little break as well and I have been working full time managing a local apothecary and focusing on my herbalism path a bit more. The last month or so, I've been feeling the old perfumer bench call and I'm getting excited to create and promote scents again.

Our first event of the year is coming up just in time for Valentine's Day, a holiday I grew up thinking was cool to hate and now I think I really love it. Funny to figure that out when I'm as single as ever 🤣. That's ok, after a lifetime of focus on others, my solitude has been blissful, probably perpetual and I deserve to be my own Valentine for once.

On February 11th, I'll be at one of my favorite vending events,

I wish I could say I had a new perfume to premiere (who knows, maybe I will) but again, I work in my own rhythms and timelines and I'm an artist, and tbh... it's not a lack of inspiration but a bit of frustration in creating these new scents. I have been working on them, but ugh... maybe Mars direct will give me the drive I didn't have before and things will go right.

Anyway, 2023. Woah. That happened quickly. I look forward to the markets and my new Collection and for life to surprise and delight me in ways I never thought possible. 😘

These past few weeks have been a challenge. Cancer season happens in my 8th house, so it is always a transformative and internal time for me.

Lately I have been feeling the weight of society and the pressure to participate in old and tired systems. These systems are oppressive. The answer that "this is just the way the world works" doesn't work for me, or for most of us. It isn't working. We create change by first identifying that, and then doing something different. If we want to live outside of this paradigm, we have to think outside of it.

For me the way forward is through community, mutual aid, art and our connection to Mother Earth. These are the things we need to foster, now more than ever. Supporting artists and healers, donating or volunteering with mutual aid organizations. Fu***ng create!!! Heal!! Also... that thing you are afraid to do because society won't support you... the Universe will and the community will. Do it!

There are whispers on the wind. They call to me. My name is painted on the rocks a thousand years before. My time in the depths taught me to trust myself. To trust my inner feeling and knowing. I am still learning. I am still healing, but I am calling all parts of myself back into myself.

I'm creating again. Getting this wholesale order all finished up and then you all can see the next bit of aromatic art I have been working on. Thank you for listening.
