I feel so incredibly honored to serve so many people and help them move, feel, and live a better life.

It’s rewarding to look at the numbers running a small business as a solo provider + admin, social media, marketing, networking, and all the other hats a business owner wears WHILE being a homemaker for my husband and children.

When I started my business, I knew I wanted to keep my family at the forefront of my life. I work two clinic days in my office and spend the rest of the time being mom and I wouldn’t change it for the world with our growing family.

5 years ago I had my first baby and was completely shocked by all the postpartum changes that were happening to my body..

I was leaking p*e every time I sneezed or coughed. I p*ed my pants if I heard water running. I couldn’t workout without leaking p*e.

& now I’ve helped 150+ women, including myself, take back control of their bladder and pelvic floor without having to do a single kegel

The pelvic floor is usually the victim of some other issue in the body.

We breathe 20K+ times a day and our ribcage should naturally move in a 360 degree fashion with each breath

Posture, stress, pregnancy, etc can alter the ability of our ribs to move. This places extra demands on the pelvic floor and contributes to symptoms.

Learning how to improve rib mobility and expansion will fix those pelvic floor symptoms way faster than only focusing on the pelvic floor and its strength

NO Pilates class this Thursday - I am traveling for continuing education.

INTRO TO STRENGTH with Dr. Hillary this a 6-week class series that will help you build the foundational movement skills to improve mobility and build full body strength. Each class is 45-minutes of low impact and will use intentional movements to strengthen proper movement patterns and nervous system connection. Every class is pelvic floor friendly. You will learn how to properly and safely move & lift weights to build strength without injury or fear. No prior lifting experience needed.

We will work through different variations of movements like:

-squats
-lunges
-hinges
-presses
-rows
-pushups
-core

We have 2 class options this round - MONDAYS 4-4:45 and TUES 5:15-6PM. Both have 2 spots available to join currently!

In this class we focus on low reps and move with intention + purpose to reconnect to our body. Equipment is provided. Wear something comfortable and join us for this 45-minute class.
Class is $15 per person
Alexandria Area HS students or college students can show their student ID to pay $10/class

Here’s the number one thing I see every one of my clients that walk into my office struggling with

And here’s how I support them to fix it

Each client needs better rib mobility. Their breathing pattern is off. Their diaphragm isn’t doing its job so the pelvic floor takes on more work.

We start with a simple exercise laying on their belly over an exercise ball.

Release any tension and conform to the ball.

Focus on the inhale moving towards your spine vs down into the ball

It will take practice but this will create rib expansion in the back where the body needs.

I didn’t become a pelvic floor therapist because it was an underserved community, it’s because I was leaking p*e all the time and terrified to p**p from an a**l fissure.

Here we are 5 years later helping myself and over 150 women take back control of their own pelvic floor without doing kegels.

The key is not to focus on the pelvic floor needing more strength if you leak p*e after having a baby but to teach the pelvic floor how to move through a full range of motion so the muscles can support you the way they are meant to + react to demands of pressure placed on it (sneeze, cough, laugh, movement, etc).
