American Counseling Association

American Counseling Association ACA is the world's largest nonprofit association representing professional counselors in various practice settings. There are 20 chartered divisions within ACA.

The American Counseling Association (ACA) is a not-for-profit, professional and educational organization that is dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession. These divisions provide leadership, resources and information unique to specialized areas and/or principles of counseling. ACA also has 56 chartered branches in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America. Each spring, ACA holds its annual Conference & Expo offering counseling professionals an opportunity to earn 30+ CEs through a combination of education sessions (typically more than 400 to choose from), and Pre-conference Learning Institutes. Highlights include engaging keynote speakers; an onsite Career Center; the Grad Students & New Professionals Only Series; and the National Awards Ceremony. : The Tennessee General Assembly is considering SB 2227/HB 2539 which would consolidate the LPC/MFT licensure board under the Department of Health. The Tennessee Counseling Association held their day on the hill last week and is leading the charge on trying to get the LPC/MFT board removed from the bill.

We are monitoring this issue as both House and Senate committees meet today to address the bill, and we are hopeful for good news. Stay tuned for more updates.
