Shanthi Project

Shanthi Project We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to teaching social-emotional resiliency through mindfulness.

Founded in 2010, Shanthi Project teaches brain-based mindfulness techniques such as controlled movement, breathing, and meditation. Students learn valuable coping and life skills that cultivate self-awareness, enhance self-esteem and promote positive emotions, helping them establish healthy and productive relationships with themselves, their families, and their communities. Shanthi Project also supports and participates in scientific research on how mindfulness and yoga benefits trauma survivors, and its approach has been proven to reverse the effects that emotional and physical trauma has on the brain.

This video features a variation on the classic 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique. In this practice, Shanthi instructor Annie helps you slow down, breathe, and notice each of your five senses.

Spring is in the air, and our Mindful Mondays are BACK. We can't wait to see you bright and early next week!

As a reminder, this is a weekly series designed for adults, held at our studio in Easton. Each Mindful Monday session is split into two parts: an original guided meditation for part one, and a group discussion or activity for part two. We'll reflect on our practice and chat about the challenges and gifts of being human.

Each Mindful Monday has a suggested donation of $10/session, collected either on-site or by reserving your spot on our website. However, walk-ins are welcome, and no pre-registration is required.

Learn more at ShanthiProject.org/events. See you on Monday! 👋

Today, March 2nd, is Teen Mental Health Awareness Day. As an organization dedicated to mindfulness and wellbeing, this day means a lot to us. It serves as a necessary reminder that mental health deserves to be prioritized every day—not just at certain ages, and not just when it's convenient.

Today, we're teaming up with Lydia Peters, the newly crowned Miss MidState's Teen, to talk about the importance of teen mental health. She also explains the pivotal role that mindfulness can play. Check out her video below!

85% of employees agree that workplace stress affects their mental health. That number is too high.

That's why we created Shanthi : a mindfulness program designed for local professionals. After all, rigorous scientific review* shows that workplace mindfulness can reduce stress, offering psychological benefits long after the program ends.

We’ve spent fifteen years sharing mindfulness with our Lehigh Valley community. We know how to beat the workplace stress. Contact our trained Shanthi instructors at ShanthiProject.org/workplace-wellness.

Our Story

TEACHING SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL RESILIENCY THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF MINDFULNESS.

Shanthi Project is a 501(c)(3) education nonprofit providing evidence-based mindfulness services to more than 4,000 children and adults annually across the Greater Lehigh Valley and New Jersey. Committed for more than a decade to education and advocacy, we are an established agency in the Trauma-Informed Education Movement, and the local authority on building resilience in an increasingly complex 21st-century world.

We offer the benefits of mindfulness, which increase mind-body self-awareness, reduce stress and improve focus. Our work promotes positive emotions that help others learn important skills to establish, or re-establish, healthier and more productive relationships at home, school, work, and within their communities.

We are led by passionate individuals and a team of certified teachers who are trusted by a variety of community partners in Lehigh County and Northampton County, Pennsylvania, as well as Warren County, New Jersey. During the 2019-2020 school year, Shanthi Project worked with 44 schools in 10 districts, teaching 4,000 students in 168 classrooms, and supporting more than 250 teachers and support staff throughout the area.
