Ajai has been blessed with an incredible community that’s supported his journey in art and in life. Because of that, we’re committed to giving back. Starting this month, we’ll be featuring a nonprofit that aligns with our mission and donating 10% of our profits to support their work.

In honor of Disability Awareness Month, we’re proud to spotlight the Kutztown chapter of . Although Ajai has only been involved for a year, the friendships he’s built have already made him feel truly welcomed and at home.

We’ve been quiet on socials but that doesn’t mean Ajai hasn’t been staying busy! For those of you that don’t know, Ajai has been spending the last few months making his new house(!) into a real home. And it wouldn’t be a special place of his own without having one of his pieces hanging up! He’s so proud of his piece featuring a deer in the wild 🦌 ❤️

Special Arts and Cards - Our Story

Ajai is a young adult with autism attending high school in Pennsylvania, USA. He discovered his interest in art accidentally in the summer of 2017 when he was struggling with anxiety and emotional regulation. His mom introduced him to painting as form of therapy and he very quickly fell in love with it! With help and guidance from his Mom, Ajai started creating canvas art using acrylic paint and a variety of multi-media such as buttons, beads, beans, glitter, etc. In October of 2017, Ajai participated in the local Autism Society’s first ever “Autism and Arts” event. The event was a great success, Ajai became inspired to make even more pieces of art and “Special Arts and Cards” was born!

When he’s not busy creating art, Ajai loves to travel. So far, he has visited India, Canada, Iceland, Spain, Mexico, Dubai, Oman, and several states within the United States of America. He also loves listening to music, playing the piano, riding roller coasters, learning about trains and cars (Chrysler 300M is his favorite!) and enjoying a variety of food!!

Special Arts and Cards is a small family business to help Ajai sell his canvas art and greeting cards. His family hopes that creating art continues to be therapeutic for Ajai and that the business will give him a chance to share his passion with the world. They also hope that it will be a source of income for Ajai that will go towards his special needs trust fund. It will also help Ajai buy more art supplies!!
