Congratulations to Kadence Guinn, October EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH! Take some time to read her nomination to see why she is so deserving!

NAME OF NOMINEE: Kadence Guinn

DEPARTMENT: Senior Living

ATTITUDE/CHARACTER:
Kadence is very reliable and always consistent. She is someone that everyone can depend on including the residents, her co-workers ,and the leadership team. She shows up to work ready to take on the day or night and willing to tackle any task or challenge that comes her way.
Kadence is confident, competent, and dependable and exhibits all of these qualities in her work here at The Heritage Home.

CONCERN FOR OTHERS/COMPASSION/SERVANT HEART:
Kadence has a very calming presence and maintains a balance between being assertive and holding herself and others accountable and exhibiting kindness and compassion. She knows each resident well and anticipates their needs and incorporates their routines and preferences into the care she provides.

EXHIBITS INITIATIVE/ENTHUSIASM BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY:
Kadence is a true team player and one of the first to respond when extra help is needed. One might describe her as a “workaholic!” She is willing to work night shifts, evenings, and/or weekends in any role and is always willing to come in without much notice. During her shift, she is often completing resident cares or tasks that are not required but does so just to help out the next shift and ensure everything gets completed and resident’s care needs are met and often exceeds expectations.
Kadence is a natural leader and is not afraid to take charge when needed. She started as a PRN CNA and then transitioned into a CMA role and is now working full-time. In addition to her full-time scheduled hours, she often picks up extra shifts to help out if needed. She took on some of the least desired hours at a time that it was greatly needed and did so without complaint or hesitation.

Kadence is a true blessing to The Heritage Home and greatly appreciated and loved by the entire Heritage Home Family.

“Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” – 1 John 3:18
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than receive.’” -Acts 20:35
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

“Don’t discard me in my old age. As my strength fails, do not abandon me.” -Psalm 71:9

These biblical quotes remind us of our mission and purpose through our work at The Heritage Home. Our employee of the year lives our mission and embodies these quotes through her daily work. She does not provide the most dignified and compassionate care everyday because she wants the pat on the back, or because she wants a raise, or in vain. She provides unconditional, loving care because she wants to be the hands and feet of God, she wants to help others when they need it most, and she desires to set a good example for her family. Her faith is unwavering, just like her hard work every single day.

Co-worker Remarks:
Brandi is positive, compassionate, and hard working. She is a leader, humble, a learner, kind, and selfless. She loves unconditionally and wholeheartedly without hesitation. She is gentle, but fierce when she needs to be.
Brandi exudes positivity and compassion! She is supportive of her co-workers.
Brandi is caring and very good to the seniors.

Brandi goes out of her way to make others feel seen, taken care of, and loved. She goes out of her way to make people feel good, is very patient, and sets aside any problems or difficulties to provide the best care for seniors and children alike. She is dedicated to caring for others with the highest standards.
Brandi is gentle and patient! She puts the needs of others first.
Brandi is a humble servant heart through and through.

Brandi is loyal, trustworthy, and honest. She has been part of the dream from day one and the biggest cheerleader along the way. I have no doubts how dedicated she is, including moving her family and life to Alma for this job.
Brandi is a warm light that shines bright in all that she does. She doesn’t require accolades, but deserves them completely. She is a role model and example for all.
Brandi makes the Heritage Home feel like a home.
Brandi is a team player and never hesitates to help anyone!
A gift Brandi possesses is to find a need and fulfill it. She doesn’t hesitate to jump in, stay late, do lesson plans on the weekend, anything to make things better for those we serve.
Brandi will come in in the middle of the night, early, late, whatever. You will often see her tidying up and making sure everyone around her is comfortable.
Brandi is quiet, but you usually know where she’s been because things will be cleaned up and you might hear her happy voice or laugh while she does it. Kids from childcare still seek her calming comfort.

Brandi is one of the most dedicated and consistent employees and goes above and beyond every single day. Her work ethic is unmatched and her love and loyalty to the Heritage Home is unsurpassed. She is a shining example of God’s light and love and a true example of serving others the way that HE teaches us to. All that she does is for HIS honor and glory and never expects or asks for anything in return. She is selfless and giving, loving and gracious, humble and kind and exudes all of the beautiful and wholesome qualities that the bible exemplifies for all of us. She is a true blessing to all of us at The Heritage Home.
I am not sure how to accurately put into words just how incredible Brandi is and what she means to The Heritage Home. She is the epitome of our mission and purpose. Perhaps far more powerful than any word or phrase is to just be a witness to the love she willingly and freely gives, the light she shines, the smiles she evokes, and the heartwarming embrace and regard that each and EVERY person, young and old alike, possess when blessed with an encounter with Brandi.
Brandi is the sweetest ever! Her work ethic is unmatched. It is a true gift to see her smiling face everyday. She is a blessing to all.

Our home has been incredibly blessed by our staff, residents, families, and this community and surrounding communities in so many ways and yesterday’s match day was no exception! One of our team members asked me to write a thank you informing me “you always have the right words” but as I sit here in front of my computer screen with a tear stained face and a full, humble heart…….words escape me as honestly there are no words to truly express how grateful we are to each and every person who not only donated but continue to support us and shower us with love. The work we do on a daily can be challenging and as we say often, “not for the faint of heart” but I can tell you that days like yesterday not only rejuvenate us but also remind us of our purpose and inspire our passion. Perhaps far greater than any thank you is a sincere promise to pay it forward by continuing to live out our mission and love and serve every generation the way that God taught us! From the bottom of our hearts to the tips of our toes, THANK YOU!

Stay tuned for pictures and progress on our new chapel and play area!!! It will be nothing short of amazing! Thanks again for making it possible!!

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
