Hot Alma Nights will be hosting their 18th Annual Car Show on August 15, 2026. The Backroad Gals will be hosting their 12th Annual Mountain Oyster Fry on September 19, 2026. Proceeds from both events will go to individuals in Wabaunsee County experiencing major medical expenses.

If you know of an individual in Wabaunsee County, Kansas that is experiencing these types of expenses, please contact Shanee’ Askren at backroadgals@gmail.com or by phone (785) 458-9805 with the individuals name and contact information by March 31, 2026.

📣 Hot Alma Nights Update! 🚗🎶🍔

We’re excited to share an important update about Hot Alma Nights! To better support our amazing car owners and show participants, we’re adjusting the event time to 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
This change helps ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for our car owners while still keeping the heart of Hot Alma Nights alive for our local community. 💛

Even better—we’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Brandt House! This collaboration gives our locals a welcoming place to gather, socialize, enjoy great food, and take in the entertainment from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Our goal has always been to accommodate both groups that make Hot Alma Nights special:
• 🚘 Car owners and show participants, and
• 🏡 Local residents and visitors looking for a fun, vibrant community event.

We believe this new schedule and partnership strike the perfect balance, and we can’t wait to enjoy it together. Thank you for your continued support—we’ll see you at Hot Alma Nights from 10 AM to 2 PM and at the Brandt House from 3 PM to 9 PM!

Entering 2026, we are humbly reminded of the strength and generosity of our community. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Bonnie Williams following the passing of an exceptional woman. As a dedicated kindergarten teacher for 32 years, Bonnie positively influenced the lives of many young people in Wabaunsee County.

The memorial donations directed to "Hot Alma Nights" in her memory are greatly appreciated. We are honored that our fund was selected as a meaningful way to commemorate her life and impact.

As we wrap our reflection of this event we want to take a moment to honor those that are no longer with us…Linda Willey and Joel Fager. For many of you reading this, they touched your lives. They were special people, devoted to their community, and will be missed by many. We extend our prayers to their families.

We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of Linda Willey, one of our 2025 major medical expense recipients.
Many of you would have met her smiling face while she worked the WB County Fair concession stand for more years than most of us were a part of the fair and can only imagine the number of children she coached in the goat project. Linda’s year’s of service on the Fair Board will be greatly missed. We extend condolences to her family, friends, and 4-H family during the difficult days ahead. We ask that you keep her family and those who knew her in your thoughts and prayers.
