Today is World Health Day — and at Aphrodite HR, we believe health is the foundation of success, creativity, and growth.

This year’s theme is “My Health, My Right.” It’s a powerful reminder that access to quality healthcare, nutritious food, mental wellness resources, and safe working environments should never be a privilege — they’re human rights.

As a woman and disabled veteran-owned business, we’ve seen firsthand how health — both mental and physical — impacts every corner of our lives, especially in the workplace. That’s why we’re passionate about building healthier, more inclusive work environments for every employee, from the warehouse to the boardroom.

Today, we encourage our clients, partners, and community to:
• Take a deep breath.
• Prioritize mental and physical well-being.
• Advocate for equitable health access in the workplace and beyond.

At Aphrodite HR, we don’t just talk about it — we work toward it.

Here’s to creating a world where everyone thrives.

Your embryology lab is not a Petri dish for bad hires.
Let’s culture some actual talent.

At Aphrodite HR, we specialize in recruiting embryologists and lab scientists who know their way around a microscope and a micromanipulator.

Tired of applicants who think ICSI is a typo?
Can’t keep up with cycle season because your best embryologist just ghosted you mid-freeze?
Still waiting for the right person to fertilize your open req?

Yeah… we got you.

We know what makes embryologists tick (hint: it’s precision, passion, and probably good coffee). Whether you’re looking for someone with ASRM-level experience, mad pipetting skills, or someone who nerds out over embryo grading—we’ll find them.

Let’s inseminate your hiring strategy with some actual results.
(Too far? Not far enough?)

Reach out today and let’s make science (and hiring) magic.

How to Work with an Agency Recruiter (Without Making Yourself Look Bad)

So, you connected with an agency recruiter, had a great conversation, and now you’re eyeing that hiring manager’s LinkedIn profile thinking, What if I just reach out directly?

Stop. Right. There.

Going around the recruiter and reaching out to the hiring manager after you’ve already been introduced through the recruiter doesn’t make the recruiter look bad—it makes YOU look bad. It signals that you don’t respect the process, don’t follow instructions, and could be a potential headache for the company.

Recruiters work hard to advocate for you, negotiate the best deal, and position you as the ideal candidate. Undermining that? Not a good look.

Want to build a strong relationship with your recruiter and maximize your chances of landing the job? Here’s what to do instead:

✅ Communicate openly – If you have concerns, tell your recruiter. They’re there to help!
✅ Trust the process – The recruiter is your best connection to the hiring manager. They know how to position you.
✅ Be professional – Respecting the recruiter’s role makes you look like a strong, desirable candidate, not a desperate one.

So, before you hit “send” on that direct message to the hiring manager, ask yourself: Do I want to be seen as a team player or a wildcard who doesn’t follow directions?

Choose wisely.

🚨 PSA for Embryologists: Do Your Research Before Talking Salary! 🚨

Guys, I love you, but you have to do your homework before throwing out salary expectations. I know my budget. I know the cost of living. I know what other embryologists make. So when you come to me asking for $250K in California, my response is simple: get outta here!

Inflating salaries beyond reason isn’t just unrealistic—it’s hurting practices that are already operating on tight margins. Every dollar wasted on overblown salaries is a dollar that should be going toward helping patients grow their families. And at the end of the day, that’s what matters most.

Oh, and don’t forget—I also have a nonprofit that will be bringing embryologists from Europe, South America, and Canada. What are you going to do when they come in, are reasonable, and take the job for what the practice can actually afford?

Don’t cry to me when that happens, because my response will be: so sad, too bad, buttercup.
