Hi there! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share either in the comments or in a private message of any barriers they faced while receiving prenatal care. For example: some practices do not accept Medicaide so an expecting mom may not be able to receive care at the facility of her choice. Women have also voiced that they face long waits for short appointments that almost feel like a waste of their time. And last but not least, doulas are not covered by insurance leaving a large percentage of women without doula support because of the inability to afford their services. Feel free to comment or send a message if you would like to ☺

Women receive up to 49 hours of a visiting postpartum nurse that is covered by insurance 😍😍😍 We need to really start treating New moms with the dignity and respect they deserve here in the US. I have hope that this will catch on 💜

Great read! Women would benefit greatly if Medicare would cover doula costs.

Doulas provide emotional support for a woman through pregnancy and childbirth. A study finds that women with doulas are less likely to have cesarean or preterm births.
