Please join us in congratulating Savannah Childress, BSA, RN, on being named a Panhandle Great 25 Nurses!
Savannah’s path to nursing was shaped by both personal experience and purpose. Drawn to science and medicine, her calling became clear during and after her father’s cancer treatment. Wanting to do more for others during vulnerable moments led her to pursue a career in bedside nursing. With a natural love for children, pediatric nursing became an obvious choice. After pursuing other degrees along the way, Savannah believes her journey was carefully and purposefully chosen by God—leading her exactly where she was meant to be.
For Savannah, her calling has been affirmed not by a single moment, but through the many experiences she’s had over the past seven years—walking alongside children and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. “Being a nurse at BSA has opened my eyes and softened my heart to a lot in life. Watching and helping people navigate really difficult situations provides a new perspective on how I do my job as a nurse and how I live life in general,” she shares.
Being honored as one of the Panhandle Great 25 Nurses reflects what matters most to Savannah: “Building relationships with my patients and loving them through really vulnerable situations is the greatest part of my job. Being recognized for that is more than I could ever ask for!”
Her advice to new nurses is heartfelt and encouraging: “Keep going. Do it scared. Come to work each day, give it your best, and let God handle what’s left.”
We’re proud to celebrate Savannah and the compassion she brings to BSA and our community. Thank you, Savannah, for helping make BSA a Great Place for Patients. 💙
